🌍 Exciting Insights from Formnext - Where ideas take shape 2024! Our team at Fraunhofer IAPT is energized by the innovations, ideas, and dynamic conversations that make the world of Additive Manufacturing (#AM) so engaging. During the panel discussion “Science and Research as an Enabler for the Industrialization of AM", Prof. Dr. Ingomar Kelbassa emphasized the importance of taking a holistic view of the entire additive process chain rather than focusing on individual steps. The discussion also highlighted important cooperation initiatives in the AM industry, including #IAMHH (Industrialized Additive Manufacturing Hub Hamburg), which Ingomar proudly presented as an important driver of joint innovation in the industry. Highlights at our booth: ▪️ AM Maturation Process Chain: A comprehensive, end-to-end approach to process optimization and qualification ▪️ Dobot Demonstrator: A #robotic arm showcasing how automation drives efficiency in Additive Manufacturing ▪️ Aerospace Component: A hydraulic valve block demonstrating enhanced productivity and cost efficiency through innovative beam shaping techniques. ▪️ Big Data LMD Demonstrator: Harnessing Big Data and #AI for smarter, more efficient manufacturing process optimization Together we are setting new standards in the #digitalization of the #AM process and continuously breaking new ground in #AdvancedManufacturing and #Industry. We look forward to continuing these discussions and building on the inspiration from this event. 📍 Visit us online for more details: https://lnkd.in/ezxZmrgd #Formnext2024 #AdditiveManufacturing #FraunhoferIAPT #Innovation #3DPrinting #Industry40 #IAMHH #AM

@Mirco Jankowiak #Fraunhofer-Verbund Produktion #Fraunhofer IAPT #Formnext24 #AdditiveManufacturing #Automation #Innovation Video: Fraunhofer IAPT

🌟 Impressions from the Professional MotorSport World Expo 2024! 🌟 We’re excited with how things were going in Cologne! At the Fraunhofer IAPT booth, we’ve had insightful conversations – not only with motorsport enthusiasts and curious visitors but also with other innovative fellow exhibitors, strengthening connections and sparking new ideas. Our Bugatti brake caliper remains a showstopper, showcasing the power of additive manufacturing by reducing weight by over 40% while preserving peak performance. Alongside this highlight, our advanced heat exchanger technologies and high-strength special alloys have drawn considerable interest. At the “AM for High-Performance Automotive Symposium”, moderated by our colleague Ina Ludwig, our deputy institute director, Dr. Frank Beckmann, shared insights on the next-gen #AM for high-performance materials and components. He highlighted new crash-capable high-performance alloys that match or exceed conventional standards. He also showcased AM’s potential for lightweight construction and functional integration in the automotive industry, with examples such as ultra-light brake calipers, hybrid brake discs, components with integrated acoustic and vibration damping, and embedded electrical circuits. If you’d like to learn more or explore collaboration opportunities, don’t hesitate to reach out. #PMWExpo2024 #AdditiveManufacturing #LightweightDesign #Innovation #FraunhoferIAPT #AM #Hamburg
