At Freudenberg Performance Materials, we are committed to supporting our customers in achieving their sustainability goals. Sustainable production and efficient recycling strategies remain a top priority. Through our ongoing research and commitment to innovation, we have successfully expanded our Take Back program even further. Within our in-house recycling facilities, we collect scrap materials from our shoe factories in India, Indonesia, and Vietnam, which are integrated into our recycling process. This allows us to manufacture high-quality shoe components using recycled materials, enabling customers to move towards zero-waste manufacturing. Moreover, our spunbond technology utilizes thermal bonding, resulting in products that are 100% recyclable, allowing for a more circular and resource-efficient approach. By working together, we can drive real change for a greener world. What is the most important step to sustainability for you?

Decades of Experience – United for 10 Years Ten years ago, two business groups, Freudenberg Nonwovens and Freudenberg Politex Nonwovens, combined their extensive experience and expertise to form what is now Freudenberg Performance Materials. Under the motto “Innovative. Global. Sustainable.”, we made our public debut at Techtextil 2015 in Frankfurt, Germany. A decade later, this motto remains at the core of our values. Since 2015, we have further expanded our family with the acquisitions of Low & Bonar, Filc d.o.o. - a company of Freudenberg, and Heytex Group. Then as now, Freudenberg Performance Materials stands by its most important mission: continuously developing innovative solutions to meet the needs of our customers. Our materials have a long and successful history dating back to 1938. Lightweight Construction for the Future of Mobility The automotive industry faces growing challenges: stricter emissions standards, the rise of electrification, and the need to reduce CO₂ emissions. Lightweight construction has become a critical solution to address these demands. Freudenberg Performance Materials has developed an innovative underbody system made from recyclable polyester. This system features a smart sandwich structure of needle-punched and spunbond layers, offering a wide range of benefits. It reduces weight by up to 700 grams per square meter compared to traditional materials. This substantial weight reduction plays a significant role in lowering CO₂ emissions. The system’s adjustable layer composition allows it to meet specific performance needs, such as enhanced stiffness. By combining lightweight, strength, and adaptability, Freudenberg Performance Materials presents a forward-thinking solution that tackles the complex challenges of today's automotive industry.
