GeoPard Agriculture - all-in-one precision agriculture platform that provides insights about any field in the world. GeoPard Agriculture was developed by a team that has been building PrecisionAg solutions since 2012 (Zoner co-founders; then Xarvio Technical managers). It employs cutting-edge technologies to optimize crop inputs and yield while preserving resources. Customers of the application take advantage of automatically created multi-year analytics which describes historical and in-season crop development patterns of the field, thereby helping to know the agricultural area better and to apply the right decision in the right spots at the right time. GeoPard supports analytics of imagery, yield, soil, EC, as-applied, and topography data and provides API for all the analytics. Multi-year and multi-layer field analytics and Variable Rate application prescription maps creation.

Engineers at the University of Wisconsin–Madison have created affordable sensors to monitor soil nitrate levels in real-time for soil types common in Wisconsin. These printed electrochemical sensors can help farmers make smarter decisions about fertilization, potentially saving them money. “Our sensors can give farmers a clearer picture of their soil’s nutrient levels and how much nitrate is available for crops. This information allows them to make precise decisions on how much fertilizer is needed,” says Joseph Andrews, a UW–Madison assistant professor of mechanical engineering and lead researcher. “Reducing fertilizer use could mean significant cost savings, especially for large farms.” #geopard #precisionagriculture #cropmonitoring # https://lnkd.in/d-wSCxBT

In agriculture, the pursuit of optimal crop yield is a perpetual challenge for farmers worldwide. While conventional wisdom often attributes yield losses to readily apparent factors and adverse weather conditions, there exists a more subtle and elusive phenomenon known as Phantom Yield Loss. #geopard #PhantomYieldLoss #precisionagriculture https://lnkd.in/dV_Xu4En

Fertilizer management is a crucial aspect of successful corn production. Properly calculating fertilizer uptake based on yield dry value ensures that crops receive the necessary nutrients to maximize yield while minimizing costs and environmental impacts. Fertilizer uptake involves the absorption of nutrients by plant roots from the soil. #Fertilizeruptake #geopard #corn https://lnkd.in/dZ2Eq_82

I GET INSANE 😤 when agro managers tell business owners, "Let's buy drones for monitoring." Seriously? Do you have enough free time to learn how to fly a drone, hang out with all these batteries, charge, and then process multispectral shots? With services like PlanetDAO offering satellite imagery 🌍 at 3.7-meter resolution 🍓EVERY DAY🍓 , so you only need a drone ONCE! To map out your field boundaries with LIDAR. Just rent the service! Today’s call with Dmitry Dementiev from GeoPard Agriculture inspired this mini-rant. He showed me their improved algorithm for processing satellite images with AI to increase quality. And I have a very biased (read: hate) attitude towards drones for unprofitability. This year, I wasted two days of my best ages 😩 with a pilot trying to count seedlings. We barely covered 16 hectares out of 64 for 2 days! Last year, we flew over a hazelnut plantation 🌰 with an infrared camera for... who knows what. Ultimately, I still used EOSDA Crop Monitoring to make a yield forecast (a from 5 to 14% error, not bad for an experiment!). In comparison, drones just don’t stack up to satellite tech — they’re inefficient and, frankly, a waste What’s your take? Maybe someone here is happy with drones? UPD: Dear marketers and bizdevs, There’s no need for me to demonstrate the value of your solutions—I’m into. However, they are simply too costly for the sector in which I operate and most of the real people in. Rather than focusing on demos, I encourage you to explore ways to democratize your solutions and make them accessible to businesses beyond large holdings.

Now, to have a whole conversation about precision agriculture, you need to speak about Vegetation Index, particularly when you're discussing the role of remote sensing in this form of agriculture. Vegetation is intimately involved with almost every facet of human existence, including the act of breathing, the provision of clothes and shelter, the production of food, etc. #PrecisionAgriculture #geopard https://lnkd.in/ddbxyuwy
