ATELIER SUR L'AGENT FISCAL EN REPUBLIQUE DEMOCRATIQUE DU CONGO POUR GAVI ET LE FONDS MONDIAL A la mi-novembre, l'équipe du projet GFA en #RDC a organisé pour la deuxième fois une plateforme technique pour nos équipes provinciales et nationales à #Kinshasa. Les experts GFA de plus de 12 provinces de la RDC se sont réunis pour échanger leurs expériences et discuter des défis auxquels ils sont confrontés dans leur rôle d'agents fiscaux/fournisseurs d'assurance au sein de nos entités sur le terrain. Cette réunion a mis en évidence l'importance cruciale du partage des connaissances pour améliorer la mise-en-œuvre des projets au niveau provincial et favoriser le fort esprit d'équipe qui définit notre travail d'agent fiscal/fournisseur d'assurance de la GFA en RDC. Un excellent début pour notre nouvelle phase de projet avec Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance et le Fonds mondial. GFA, en tant qu'Agent Fiscal (AF) pour le Fonds Mondial et Fournisseur d'Assurance (PA) pour GAVI en RDC, fournit une large gamme de services de gestion financière dans le cadre de la mise-en-œuvre des activités de nos bailleurs. Nous travaillons avec nos clients pour nous assurer que toutes les demandes d'engagement de fonds et/ou de paiement dans le cadre de la mise-en-œuvre de la subvention sont correctement exécutées. À ce titre, l'AF supervise, décharge et exécute avec diligence tous les services nécessaires pour garantir que toutes les activités de gestion financière ont été menées dans le strict respect des principes, règles et procédures définis par le Fonds mondial/GAVI et le gouvernement local. GFA STARTS NEW GIZ PROJECT IN LESOTHO ON ECONOMIC GROWTH, JOB CREATION AND ECONOMIC PARTNERSHIP AGREEMENT We’re excited to kick off a new project in Lesotho! 🎉 GFA Consulting Group GmbH is partnering with GIZ on an initiative that supports Lesotho’s economic growth and job creation by unlocking opportunities in regional trade. GFA’s mission is to empower the Ministry of Trade and Industry, Business Development (MTIBD), as well as local businesses, to boost exports and increase their competitiveness in selected industries. While MSMEs (Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises) are the backbone of Lesotho's economy, driving employment and local production, they face significant challenges such as high production costs and low value-added manufacturing. “Our work aims to address these barriers through tailored technical expertise, training, and capacity-building”, says Franziska Ulrich, consultant at GFA’s Private Sector Development Department. The project also places a special emphasis on considering the specific skills and needs of women and youth to participate meaningfully in trade and business. Here’s what the project is focusing on:   ▶️ Targeting agro-processing (e.g., indigenous herbs, spices, rosehip) and light industry (e.g., duck and goose feathers), which hold untapped potential to create jobs, foster innovation, and expand exports. ▶️ Enabling MSMEs to manage selected value chains, meet international market requirements and leverage digital services to unlock new trade opportunities. ▶️ Supporting Lesotho’s efforts to integrate more effectively into regional and global value chains, leveraging trade agreements to their fullest potential. The GIZ module “Lesotho Economic Growth, Job Creation, and EPA Implementation Support Programme” (RVCL+) and its tendered project are an integral part of the Joint Action “Cooperation for Enhancement of SADC Regional Economic Integration – CESARE III”, funded by the European Union (EU) and the German Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).   🛫 We are thrilled to embark on this journey, collaborating with our partners to create an impact in Lesotho and the SADC region. 💡 GFA CONSULTANTS ARE TAKING PART IN VBI IMAGE CAMPAIGN The image campaign "Die Ausdenker" by the German Association of Consulting Engineers (Verband Beratender Ingenieure VBI) is going into the next round, focusing on recruiting young talents with new motifs. The campaign is aimed directly at young people and highlights the crucial role of engineers, architects and consultants in overcoming the key challenges facing society. ✏️ This is conveyed by the young professionals who are the faces of the campaign. Two colleagues from GFA Consulting Group are also taking part: Chenai Tsorayi, Consultant in the Financial Systems Development department, and Henrike Romstedt, Consultant in Education, Skills and Employment. Proud to Share GFA's First Successful Project with CEB and Our Debut in Italy! A few months ago, GFA Consulting Group GmbH was awarded a project under the framework of the Council of Europe Development Bank (CEB), marking our first initiative in Italy. The project, titled Empower Housing, focuses on addressing housing exclusion among displaced Ukrainians in the Piedmont region through in-depth research and the development of pilot project concepts. Last week together with my colleague Arda Gucyetmez, MBA we presented the outcomes in a dedicated event. It was an honor to represent GFA in the esteemed Sala delle Colonne at Turin’s Municpality. I had the opportunity to present our work to a distinguished audience that included banking representatives, the Municipality of Turin, and Settimo Torinese. Following my presentation, the project’s experts (silvia cafora and Filippo Furri) shared the results of their research and outlined potential pilot projects. These initiatives aim to address housing challenges with the continued support and cooperation of local authorities. This project was a testament to excellent teamwork and strong collaboration between all parties involved. FISCAL AGENT WORKSHOP IN THE DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF CONGO FOR GAVI AND THE GLOBAL FUND By mid-November the GFA project team in #DRC organized a technical platform for the provincial and national program team in #Kinshasa for the second time, GFA experts from over 12 provinces across the DRC gathered to share experiences and discuss challenges that they face in their role as fiscal agents/assurance providers within the field units. This meeting highlighted the critical importance of knowledge sharing to improve project implementation at the provincial level and to foster the strong sense of team spirit that defines our GFA Fiscal Agent/Assurance Provider work in the DRC.
