The German Alliance for Global Health Research (GLOHRA) is a proponent for interdisciplinary and collaborative global health research. We are an association of researchers from public research institutions in Germany working together to address the complex challenges we face today – neglected tropical diseases and antibiotic resistance, but also mental illness and diabetes together with achieving universal health coverage and the human right to health. GLOHRA seeks to foster exchange and forge new mechanisms of cooperation across institutions, disciplines, sectors and countries.
GLOHRA aims to strengthen global health research in Germany by connecting a community of qualified researchers, funding groundbreaking research projects and scientific events, supporting the next generation of researchers, and enhancing cross-sector collaboration. We place particular importance on cross-institutional and transdisciplinary efforts, knowing that our best research is collaborative. Launched in February 2020, GLOHRA is sponsored by the German Federal Ministry for Education and Research (BMBF).
