In our living wall hydroponic and aquaponic systems, we echo this natural flow—bringing life to urban spaces, filtering water, and creating vibrant, self-sustaining environments. 🛑 Important Announcement Grandi Florus Design Végétal, my old French company that holds a French utility patent, began developing and testing my "modular plate vertical hydroponic system" a few years ago. Unfortunately, time passes, and the Grandi Florus system's utility patent protection is about to expire. I'd like to THANK my colleagues in Spain for their remarkable contributions to the horticultural testing phases, which were successfully completed through the evolution of three separate models. 🔜 Strategic Transition: Due to the high costs and long effort required to develop an invention patent, I have decided not to follow this dangerous road. After careful consideration, I have decided to shift to open source.  The transition to open source promotes knowledge exchange, innovation, and continual development. I will provide thorough instructions and sell the necessary supplies, thereby fostering a community of dedicated passionate. ❗ I am overjoyed to be taking this path, as I am confident that this collaborative approach will enhance our field and catapult biophilic technologies to new heights. 🥇 Also, I am pleased to share that the Grandi Florus system has been chosen for trial in a biological aquaponics farm. Aquaponics and hydroponics have many similarities: both use water for developing plants without soil. However, aquaponics blends fish farming and plant cultivation in a symbiotic ecosystem. Fish faeces supplies natural nutrients to the plants, which filter and purify the water for the fish. This integration is an excellent milestone for the system. ⁉ ➕ -Lightweight and Easy to Install: The green walls, some of which have been in place for nearly 8 years, are surprisingly lightweight. Even when pre-planted, they simply adhere to their support, which is likewise easy to install. -Flexibility in Plant Selection: While plant selection is vital for keeping a consistent weight, the system allows for a vast botanical diversity, giving unique solutions for each location. ➖ -Irrigation Sensitivity: In contrast to traditional approaches, a root system forming in a synthetic substrate is vulnerable to irrigation interruptions. A faulty irrigation system might soon put the plants at risk. 📷 A green wall made with Grandi Florus system specifically created for an office with extreme dry air (less than 20% humidity) caused by a heat pump and the inability to open windows. Prolonged exposure to dry air can cause a variety of health problems, such as respiratory issues, dry skin, eye irritation, and an increased susceptibility to colds and flu. Low humidity can also have an impact on productivity and comfort. Grandi Florus Creation blends technology and nature indoors, offering a natural humidification solution while improving air quality and overall well-being. Thank you for your continuing support. Honour World Bee Day! 🐝🌼 Today, we honour the incredible role that bees play in pollination, biodiversity, and sustainable agriculture. World Bee Day, celebrated annually on May 20th, reminds us of the importance of these tiny but mighty creatures and the urgent need to protect their habitats. As a passionate macrophotographer, I’ve had the privilege of capturing the beauty and intricacy of bees up close. Here’s one of my shots, which is also used by my good friend, JORDAN DEVOT, who runs a local honey business called "Le Rucher de Jordan" in the countryside near Nancy, France. While honeybees are crucial for pollination, it's equally important to remember the vital role of wild bees. Wild bees, such as bumblebees and solitary bees, contribute significantly to the pollination of many plants, ensuring the health and diversity of our ecosystems. Bees are vital for our food supply and ecosystems, and everyone can help by planting bee-friendly flowers, reducing pesticide use, and supporting local beekeepers like Jordan. Let's not forget the wild bees, whose habitats can be protected by creating bee houses, leaving nesting sites undisturbed, and fostering diverse agricultural systems.
