On July 1, 2024, we were in Uedem to celebrate the grand opening of the new Omexom Institute location with its integrated energyLab! 📍 Location: Omexom, Uedem 🔧 Installed Components: Indoor HydroCabs® & Hydrogen Storage in Cylinder Bundles Our dedicated service team has successfully installed and commissioned the indoor HydroCabs® and storage solutions over the past few weeks, contributing to the innovative environment of the energyLab. 🔍 Who is Omexom Deutschland? Omexom develops and implements energy infrastructure systems, from local e-charging stations to smart city solutions. They handle planning, construction, maintenance, and servicing, tailored to customer needs. The Omexom Institute in Uedem serves as a hub for innovation, knowledge sharing, and collaboration, preparing the site and region for the energy transition. 🤝 Cooperation with Rhine-Waal University In collaboration with Rhine-Waal University, Omexom developed a hydrogen-based backup power generator as a sustainable alternative to diesel and petrol generators. This project earned Omexom the University Prize from Wirtschaftsförderung Kreis Kleve GmbH, awarded on May 22, 2024, at the Forum Kreis Kleve. The innovation will now be part of the new energyLab. 🔋 The energyLab The energyLab highlights Omexom's expertise in renewable energy, grid connectivity, and decarbonization solutions with batteries and green hydrogen. It serves as a hub for innovation and training in the energy transition. On-Site Visit – German-Chilean Innovation in Action! We were excited to host Jaime Riveros Palmiño, the CEO of H Ingeniería from Chile, to our facilities in Heide! 🌍 Jaime is part of a special program designed to promote exchanges between Chilean professionals and German companies, fostering sustainable collaborations and advancing the use of innovative technologies. After virtual meetings and attending the Hydrogen Technology Expo in Hamburg with Ulf Behrens, we took the next step on November 5th: a personal factory tour at H2 Core Systems. Alexander B., the Head of Production, gave us fascinating insights into our production site and demonstrated how our modular electrolyzer systems make green hydrogen available everywhere, for everyone. Jaime Riveros Palmiño is working with a leading bus company in Santiago with already 800 electric buses – to introduce their first hydrogen bus, driving the shift towards H2-powered buses. It’s an impressive project that we’re eager to support with our expertise and technologies. Smart Storage Solutions Equipped with advanced battery and hydrogen storage systems, the energyLab supports energy independence and grid stability by storing excess renewable energy as green hydrogen. 2. On-Site Hydrogen Production and Storage Using an electrolysis unit, green hydrogen is produced from renewable energy and stored in specialized cylinders, replacing fossil fuels and providing scalable decarbonization solutions. 3. Energy Self-Sufficiency in Action The lab demonstrates energy self-sufficiency by integrating renewable sources, storage, and intelligent management to maintain continuous, carbon-neutral power. 4. Measurement and Control Technology Through real-time monitoring, the energyLab maximizes energy efficiency and stability, offering valuable insights for urban and industrial applications. Partnership with Rhine-Waal University Together with Rhine-Waal University, a hydrogen-based backup generator was developed as a sustainable alternative to diesel and gasoline generators. Recap of the Hydrogen Technology Expo Europe in Hamburg! 🌍 Reflecting on two incredible days at the Hydrogen Expo in Hamburg! From October 23-24, we had the privilege of showcasing our sustainable H2 solutions at Booth 4B45 in Hall A4 and engaging with industry leaders, partners, and visitors who share our commitment to shaping the future of hydrogen technology.            A special highlight was hosting the Japanese delegation from Hyogo Prefecture at our booth. The delegation, led by Mr. Maekawa Manabu from the Hyogo Prefectural Government, joined Staatssekretär Joschka Knuth from the Ministry of Energy Transition, Climate Protection, Environment, and Nature of Schleswig-Holstein for an in-depth conversation about expanding hydrogen collaboration. The meeting underscored both Japan's and Germany's commitment to achieving carbon neutrality by 2050 and explored joint initiatives in hydrogen technology. Schleswig-Holstein. Der echte Norden. and Japan's Hyogo Prefecture will intensify their cooperation in the field of the H2 economy and agree that achieving a decarbonized society is an important goal. Our all-in-one H2 solutions captured a lot of interest – the seamless integration of electrolysis, storage, and renewable energy sources is a significant step towards long-term energy independence and cost savings. 🌱💡 Many visitors were impressed by our modular systems that not only support sustainable energy but also ensure long-term cost efficiency and safety. Energy Business Trip to Portugal 2024 – Focus on Green Hydrogen 🌱 Date: September 23 – 27, 2024 Topic: Production, Storage, and Transport of Green Hydrogen Portugal is committed to a green future, aiming to become CO₂-neutral by 2050. With its abundant natural resources—lots of sun and wind—the country has ambitious plans to produce green hydrogen competitively. The National Hydrogen Strategy (EN-H2) plans to invest €7 billion by 2030 to expand production, storage, and transport capabilities. Ulf Behrens was on-site and gathered some exciting insights for us: On Monday, we’ll meet with the AHK Portugal to gain an overview of the political and economic situation. Tuesday will be dedicated to a technical conference, featuring my presentation at 11:30 AM. The conference will be opened by the Secretary of State for Energy and will conclude with remarks from Thorsten Kötschau. On Wednesday, we’ll continue with B2B meetings and visits, including the Instituto Superior Técnico in Lisbon, which conducts intensive research in renewable energy. On Thursday, we’ll travel to Cascais, where a hydrogen filling station is currently under construction and set to open in November. Soon, some hydrogen buses will be operating from this station.
