Whether in neighbourhood assistance, sports clubs, fire brigades, youth work, food banks, environmental protection ... The list of associations and initiatives that rely on help is long and getting longer. We know that some colleagues in our company are also involved in voluntary work, sending a strong signal of solidarity and cohesion. A commitment that requires not only private time, but also a lot of heart and dedication. On International Volunteer Day, this commitment should be recognised and appreciated.   Perhaps this day will even inspire some people to think about volunteering themselves. This month our colleague Georgi Slawtschew held two training courses on the dryer section in Gernsbach. The Bildungsakademie Papier im FÖP e. V. (BIP) in the Gernsbach Paper Centre regularly offers training courses on a range of topics. Various speakers gave interesting presentations over 2.5 days. Ours dealt with increasing efficiency in the dryer section. It was great to see how engaged the participants were.   We are already looking forward to the next opportunity for interesting talks and technical discussions. #heimbach #gernsbach #dryersection

One of the most important ways we protect our team is through the proper use of 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗘𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 (𝗣𝗣𝗘). From hard hats and gloves to safety harnesses, PPE is essential for preventing injuries across all operations. PPE isn’t just about meeting standards; it’s about ensuring every worker goes home safely at the end of the day. Whether it’s protecting against falling objects, chemicals, or falls from height, having the right equipment—and knowing how to use it—is critical. 𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗣𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗔𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗣𝗣𝗘: • 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗵𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: PPE includes head, eye, hand, hearing, respiratory, and fall protection. Each piece is designed to address specific hazards. • 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝘀 𝗖𝗿𝘂𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹: Recently, we held a hands-on training session with 𝗠𝗔𝗨𝗘𝗟 𝗦𝗶𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗔𝗿𝗯𝗲𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗻, helping 60 colleagues improve their skills, particularly in using fall protection equipment like harnesses. • 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆: Safety is a team effort. By ensuring PPE is used correctly and consistently, we build a culture of responsibility and care for one another. At Heimbach, we’re committed to continuous improvement in safety. First aid training courses are held in our company every year. The training lasts one working day and is carried out by an external service provider. Anyone who has taken part in the training is awarded the status of “first aider” for two years. After two years, the training must be refreshed. In addition to first aid training, the correct use of the defibrillator is also taught. There are a total of 4 defibrillators on the company premises to provide rapid assistance in the event of a cardiac arrest.   This year, 46 employees were trained as first aiders or had their training refreshed over three days. In total, there are currently 77 first aiders in the production and administration departments at the Düren site. #heimbach #firstaidtraining

Last month we organised a training course for our customer Riaupaper in Indonesia. Our colleague Madec Sumardi gave a presentation on our latest paper machine clothing, new technologies and troubleshooting. There was also a lively discussion and Q & A on our products. It was a very interesting day for our team and also for the attendees, as they said that they were very pleased with the training material and Madec’ way of explaining. 19th October is the international Breast Cancer Day. So last Friday Heimbach Ibérica have joined the solidarity initiative promoted by Suministros Viper SA “Manos Rosas Contra el Cáncer de Mama” (Pink Hands against Breast Cancer), in collaboration with the Oncology Section of the University Hospital of Burgos. The campaign consisted of the purchase of pink gloves, whose benefits have been entirely destined to the University Hospital of Burgos, for the research and treatment of breast cancer. #heimbach #burgos #ManosRosasContraElCancer
