Hellma Solutions specialists Melanie Bruch and Dr. Oliver Mandal recently supported a research group at Mannheim University of Applied Sciences in the feasibility study of a cost effective Raman based measurement system that would work with unfocused laser powers of approx. 1 mW for the online determination of concentrations for quality control of specialty chemicals. This would mean a major expansion of the application range of #Raman spectroscopy, as it would meet the requirements of explosion protected areas. In particular the aim was to increase the efficiency of the production process of microemulsions, which behave differently to conventional emulsions and are used in various areas like in the field of cosmetics or the production of innovative fuels.
