Are you interested in studying how ore deposits form and you happen to have #apatite, a common phosphate mineral, in your rocks? Check out this paper by Marta Codeço et al. recently published in Mineralium Deposita, in collaboration with several colleagues from the GFZ Helmholtz Centre for Geosciences, to find out how apatite can unravel hydrothermal alteration in complex ore systems!
I am delighted to share that our article on apatite metasomatism from the Neves Corvo deposit has been published in Mineralium Deposita. This paper shows how we can use apatite and secondary phosphate chemistry to track hydrothermal alteration in complex ore systems. I also want to acknowledge my coauthors, Dr. Kelley and Dr. Manor, for their contributions. We thank DOME SPP 2238 - Dynamics of Ore Metals Enrichment, GFZ Helmholtz Centre for Geosciences, University of Arizona Geosciences, and School of Mining & Mineral Resources for the funding. https://lnkd.in/gyp2NxUQ
