🏆 German Design Award 2025 Our LEON11 project was honoured as a Winner in the ‘Excellent Architecture’ category! The jury particularly praised the successful combination of resource conservation and urban quality of life. Together with our client Pamera Real Estate Partners GmbH, we received the award in Frankfurt last Friday. 🏗 Adaptive Reuse The award from the German Design Council emphasises projects that set international standards for innovative design. LEON11 contributes to Munich's sustainable urban development as a new eye-catcher by carefully renovating a former hotel from the 1980s and modernising it to the highest design standards. By 2025, 37 modern flats will be built near Rotkreuzplatz. By converting the building instead of demolishing it, we will save around 1.6 million kWh of CO2 emissions - equivalent to the annual residential energy consumption of 200 people. 💚 Stefan Erb, Partner and Head of the Munich office, and Rebekka Pottgüter, Head of Communications, received the award in Frankfurt on behalf of HPP together with our client Christoph Zapp! ✔ PROJECT MILESTONE The foundation stone for the new campus of Darüşşafaka Schools, a well-established educational institution with a history dating back to 1863, has been laid in Sarıyer, Istanbul. The campus has been designed with sustainability and ESG criteria in mind, integrating the regulations of Turkish institutions with German school standards. This project aims to establish new benchmarks for educational infrastructure in Turkey. ⚙️ BIM and international experience The use of BIM technologies enables precise and efficient planning and realisation of the project. This not only saves time and resources, but also optimises the entire construction process. Using state-of-the-art technologies and the experience of our team, we have been designing diverse learning landscapes of all sizes around the world for many years. For example, our timber-hybrid training centre in Weinheim and the established Ruhr-West University of Applied Sciences in Mülheim (2017) or the XJTLU Taicang Campus in China (2022): https://lnkd.in/e5kVxSwm 🗓️ Completion by 2026 The first phase of the project is due to be completed by the start of the 2026 school year - an important milestone in strengthening Darüşşafaka's importance in the education sector. #HPPArchitekten #Bildungsbau #Schulbau #Lernlandschaften #BIM #BuildingInformationModeling #InternationalesProjekt #Zukunftsorientiert HPP Architekten GmbH Darüşşafaka Cemiyeti

🏆 WA100 RANKING The British magazine BD has announced the results of the annual WA100 (World Architecture 100) and we are not only once again among the top 20 architecture firms worldwide, but we are particularly pleased that we have risen to second place among the TOP 10 in Western Europe! Our broad range of services, which covers a wide variety of project typologies and expertise, is reflected in the multiple presence of specialised TOP 10s - such as project management. In addition to FOUR Frankfurt, the large-scale revitalisation of the previously derelict Jinyu Xingfa Cement Factory in Beijing, where a new scientific campus is coming to life on 60 hectares, is named as a key project with international appeal from 2024. International competition successes in the past year also contribute to the top 20 ranking: For example, first prize for the Middenzaal Theater aan het Vrijthof Maastricht or first prize for the new cultural centre and commune office in Piaseczno, Poland. We are proud of our global team and all the great projects that have contributed to these rankings! ✔ PROJECT COMPLETION With the Shangdian Tower, the State Power Investment Corporation (SPIC) has been given a new headquarters in the centre of the Expo area in Shanghai, which blends harmoniously into its surroundings with several financial institutions thanks to its design language. 🏗 Sustainable Construction and Design The SPIC Shangdian Tower was built on a very compact site with stringent planning regulations. The building consists of a five-storey podium, a green courtyard and a 13-storey tower block. The focus was on the vertical façade elements - they change their thickness depending on their position at the corners of the building up to the centre of the building, thus creating a changing transparency in the atrium. On the west and south sides, some aluminium panels were replaced with photovoltaic curtain wall elements with crystalline silicone BIPV technology. This generates over 100 kWp of electricity and significantly reduces energy consumption. 💚 We are delighted that the SPIC Shangdian Tower is setting an example and completing the Expo area in Shanghai and would like to thank our client! ✔ PROJECT COMPLETION The China Merchants Bank Tower in Nantong, which was completed last year and has now been occupied, has come to life. 🏗 Urban Transitions The bank is located in the Central Innovation Zone of the Chongchuan District. There are several striking buildings in the immediate vicinity, such as the Nantong Grand Theatre and the Nantong Art Museum. It was therefore all the more important that the architecture of the building complex, consisting of a high-rise building, a podium and a green plaza, was integrated into its surroundings. The building widens upwards, which, together with the rounded corners and the horizontal, silver-white façade bands, realises the dynamic lightness of the design concept. 💚 We would like to thank our client, China Merchants Bank, for the renewed good co-operation and look forward to many more projects! 🏆 AWARD-NOMINATION The nominations for the immobilienmanager Award 2025 were announced last week - and it is a very special honour for us that our GEMA headquarters in Berlin is one of the three nominated projects in the ‘New Construction Project Development’ category. 🏗 Sustainable Design & Construction GEMA's new Berlin headquarters opened last year, and our planning focussed on the well-being and health of the 270 employees. The timber hybrid building was mainly constructed with local and regional companies. In addition to the supporting structure, ecological materials were also used for the insulation: Cellulose (façade), wood fibre (roof) and mineral wool (solid areas). In combination with effective sun protection, highly efficient lighting and a photovoltaic system, emissions can be reduced by around 80 per cent. DGNB Platinum certification is being sought. 💚 Now it's time to keep fingers crossed until the jury announces the final decision on 6 March in Cologne! ✔ HPPy TEAMWORK Shortly before the end of the year, the Düsseldorf HPP team came together in 2024 to design the walls of our HUB. 🖼️ Re/View the Next The basis for this was our historical image material on the walls of the exhibition ‘Re/View the Next: A Discursive Collage on Aims, Challenges and Innovations’ at the Aedes Gallery in Berlin. The small-format images, over 500 in total, have now been reused and distributed across the three floors of our HUBs along the staircase. The historical images, starting with projects from the 1950s, illustrate the diversity of projects realised by HPP up to the present day. 💚 We had a lot of fun selecting and fastening the pictures, some of which we attached with VR glasses at lofty heights with millimetre precision. The historical oeuvre inspires us every day anew in our work, with which we would like to fill the still white areas of the coming years with beautiful further project results.
