Operating under the EU's Digital Product Passport which aims to advance transparency and environmental sustainability, Fab City Hamburg e.V.'s Fab City OS (OS stands for Operating System) is a collection of different open source software solutions divided into the "Fab City OS Suite" and the "Fab City OS Core" network. As part of the Dyne Foundation's INTERFACER project, the Fab City OS, and its open source solutions can be hosted locally to connect and provide Fab Cities, a vision we are working together with Fab City Foundation, meaning locally productive and globally connected self-sufficient cities, with transparency and documentation for their design and manufacturing processes.

Incredible workshop experience last week with the Master in Design for Distributed Innovation students, mapping the journey of #data from 'raw material' to potentially #value asset! An overview of what data is, how it is currently used, and how we can start changing the lenses and the perspective in order to reach a more equitable ecosystem 🧐 The challenge we addressed was building dynamic and #decentralized systems that can support and accelerate this shift from #PITO to #DIDO, without leaving anyone behind - planet 🌍, remote places 🏜️ and under-represented groups 🌈, by building the opportunity for everybody to study the system, use it, modify it and participate! Case studies: REFLOW EU Project , INTERFACER project , Fab City Hamburg e.V. The workshop welcomed everyone for the Live sessions and here you can find the overview, the main challenges we tackled and some interesting resources from the first session! Special thanks to the Dyne.org foundation colleagues Stefano Bocconi , Adam Burns and Denis "Jaromil" Roio and to the Fab City Foundation colleagues Josefina Nano Daan S. Happy #systemchange to all the magnificent MDDI students 🚀 #opendata #opensource #commons #fair-distribution #circulareconomy
