🌟 Have you ever wondered how AI can revolutionize interactions within businesses? Then we would like to share with you our latest whitepaper, “Improving Productivity with RAG and GenAI-powered Chatbots: Transforming Knowledge Management in Organizations.” Our team, consisting of Data Specialist Ayoub Selmi, Machine Learning Specialist Trang Nguyen, and our Head of Software & Data Technologies Dr. Marc Großerüschkamp, demonstrates how Large Language Models (LLMs) – particularly our implemented Chatbot – can help companies work more efficiently, manage knowledge effectively, and deliver exceptional user experiences. The chatbot was developed as part of the KARLI-Projekt and combines the power of modern AI with optimized preprocessing to deliver precise and contextually relevant responses. This results in more efficient workflows, fewer bottlenecks, and better resource utilization. With our whitepaper, we offer you a deep dive into the functionality and development of LLM-based chatbots, you will gain: ✅ Insights on how careful data preprocessing significantly enhances the performance and accuracy of models like GPT, ✅ A practical implementation guide for your organization to deploy LLM technology, and ✅ Strategic recommendations for sustainable and innovative integration of LLMs If you’d like to learn more about our chatbot or how you can leverage this technology in your organization, check out our website (link in comments) and feel free to contact Dr. Marc Großerüschkamp directly. #ai #chatbot #innovation #knowledgemanagement #machinelearning

In project lifecycle management, choosing the right tools is crucial for efficient workflows and outcomes. On the one hand, having an all-in-one tool can streamline processes, enhance traceability, and reduce licensing costs. On the other hand, a multi-tool approach allows flexibility and the best fit for each project phase from development to testing. Regardless of your choice, it is crucial to look at which software tool aligns best with your project’s specific needs. In our latest article, our Software Engineering experts Saylee Shimpi and Fabian Wurhofer provide a comprehensive guide to establishing the most effective toolchain setup. They cover popular software development tools like PTC Integrity, GitHub, Codebeamer, and Polarion, and detail their strengths, weaknesses, and use cases. To provide a clearer overview of what we discuss, here are brief summaries for each covered tool in the area of requirements management: · 𝗖𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗯𝗲𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗿 – Requirements are structured in a hierarchical fashion. These features are most beneficial in highly regulated industries. Nevertheless, the user interface is not completely intuitive and needs more time to get used to. · 𝗜𝗡𝗧𝗘𝗚𝗥𝗜𝗧𝗬/𝗣𝗧𝗖 – The creation and tracking of requirements are allowed but it doesn’t offer more advanced compliance and hierarchical structuring. This is best suited for organizations with simpler requirements. · 𝗣𝗼𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗼𝗻 – The tool is able to manage complex and safety-critical requirements since it's integrated with Siemens PLM tools. This makes it effective in environments with strict standard compliance but is limited in its lack of support for common Git repositories like Github and Gitlab. For the full guide on which tool is most effective for your project lifecycle management, check out our article (link in comments). From electrification to advanced driver assistance systems, today’s complex vehicle systems have made the traditional code-based approach to software development gradually more impractical. In order to overcome this challenge, model-based systems engineering (MBSE) presents itself as a more scalable, efficient, and reliable alternative that enables early testing, simulation, and graphical representation of system behavior. In our article on implementing MBSE in automotive software engineering, our Software & Data Technologies specialist Steffen Tjandra discusses the importance of MBSE to address the complexities of modern automotive systems. He details its advantages over code-based development based on real customer experiences, ways to enhance automotive software development workflows, and successful implementation strategies illustrated through a PID controller case study. One key highlight emphasized in the article is the methodology’s ability to enable early testing and error detection for a more reliable final product: “MBSE provides a visual representation of system components and behaviors, allowing for easier traceability between requirements, system architecture, and software implementation. By modeling the software and its interactions at an early stage, engineers can better understand the system's behavior and performance, thus reducing the risks associated with the software development process.” To learn more about model-based development for automotive software, check out our website (link in comments). 🚙 Will the European Union introduce stricter regulations on the Cybertruck and vehicles similar to it? Several transport organizations have campaigned against Tesla’s Cybertruck, claiming that its large size and sharpness could risk the safety of pedestrians and road users. Their key concerns were related to features such as its sharp edges, high front-end height that increases driver blind spots, and its gross vehicle weight of 4 tonnes—twice that of the average car. In October, Tesla recalled more than 27,000 Cybertrucks because of its defective rearview image display caused by software errors. This raises the question of whether the European Union will impose stricter regulations or consider a total ban of the vehicle and similar models, given that some countries like the Czech Republic and Slovakia allowed its operations on roads but with modifications. The electric pickup truck was permitted under an “individual vehicle approval”, which has fewer requirements than the standard “type approval” for most cars. Calls have also been made for the EU to adjust weight regulations to account for EVs' heavy batteries. Regardless of its approval status, automakers globally must prioritize the safety of all road users in their EV design. To learn more about vehicle safety, check out our services (link in comments) or approach our Head of Automated Driving Safety Sascha Hackmann directly. #automotive #cybertruck #europe #safety #tesla

Authorities recently arrested Connor Moucka and John Binns, hackers linked to the data breach of cloud service Snowflake. They reportedly extorted about $2.5 million from victims and stole sensitive data, which included government ID numbers and financial details. Companies affected by the breach belonged to critical industries like telecommunications, finance, and healthcare. The severity of this data breach was substantial, as it impacted major companies such as AT&T and Live Nation. AT&T reported to have approximately 50 billion phone records stolen and was compelled to pay a ransom exceeding $300,000. For Live Nation, personal data – including names, email and home addresses, and credit card details – was put up for sale on hacking forums in May. Although the hackers have been caught, much can be learned from Snowflake’s poor security framework and response to the data breach. For one, multi-factor authentication was not enabled by default, leaving users with single-factor authentication as vulnerable targets. Another was alerting customers late despite already detecting a potential data breach in April. Further details are expected to emerge following the arrests of the two hackers. However, the incident has already strained customer trust and serves as a cautionary tale for companies to establish stronger security measures. To learn more about keeping your data safe from breaches and other vulnerabilities, check out our website (link in comments) or approach our Information Security Officer Stefan Schäfer directly. #technology #cloud #data #cybersecurity #datasecurity
