I feel deeply humbled to be featured in the Süddeutsche Zeitung, reflecting on my path as a physician-scientist and entrepreneur. My story, like many others, is one of global roots and local impact. Born in Germany to Indian parents, I was fortunate enough to grow up in a supportive environment inspired by a family of doctors who showed me that medicine is more than a profession - it’s a commitment to serve. In 2019, alongside my co-founder and friend Dr. Benjamin Hanfstein, I launched iuvando Health to tackle one of the most pressing challenges in oncology: how to connect cancer patients to clinical trials. Powered by AI, our platform personalizes the search for patients, ensuring they have access to cutting-edge treatments tailored to their disease. Today, our growing team works across borders, united by a mission to make cancer care smarter and more accessible. The Süddeutsche Zeitung article explores how individuals with migration backgrounds, like myself and many others such as Angela Relógio, are shaping Germany’s startup ecosystem. It’s no coincidence that many of us, including incredible trailblazers like Ugur Sahin and Özlem Türeci, have found opportunities in healthcare and biotech. Our shared experiences of navigating new systems and challenging norms fuel our resilience and innovation. For iuvando Health, the journey doesn’t stop here and the next chapter is a particularly exciting one. Amidst our U.S. expansion, we remain committed to scale our impact in a region with the highest density of clinical trials while staying true to our values: growth driven by meaningful partnerships and sustainable solutions, not overpromised hype. A big thank you to the Süddeutsche Zeitung for spotlighting these stories and to everyone who’s supported iuvando Health along the way - be it patient organizations, cancer centers, health care insurances or drug makers and many well-wishers. Let’s continue building a world where personalized medicine is not just a possibility, but a reality for all.
