It is great to see that our revolutionary PV substructure PEG® EW is also being used on a ‘small scale’ all over the world at unserved areas, bringing better working and living conditions to many people. We're excited to share some progress updates on the 20 MWp PEG EW project in American Samoa! The site, composed entirely of basalt, required an innovative pre-drill and grout solution. Thanks to our simplified approach, we've been able to hire and train local workers, helping the project remain on track and on schedule. Located in Pavaiai, the 20 MW Solar Farm's 1st Phase is nearly complete as of November 8, 2024. This major milestone marks the success of a strong partnership between the American Samoa Power Authority (ASPA) and Easter Power Solutions (EPS), established under a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement. ASPA will purchase electricity at a reduced rate, offering a sustainable alternative to diesel fuel production and lowering overall costs for the community. In addition to this solar initiative, further renewable projects are on the horizon, positioning American Samoa for significant electricity rate reductions and lasting savings for customers. EPS is proud to support the local economy by employing and training more than 40 local workers during the project's installation phase, fostering a stronger, more skilled workforce for the future. #Solar #Renewables

The PEG PV substructure in Cuba defies Hurricane Rafael - no significant damage detected! On 6 November 2024, Hurricane Rafael hit the western Cuban province of Artemisa as a Category 3 storm (with wind speeds of 111 to 129 mph / 178 to 208 km/h). According to the National Hurricane Center (NHC), Rafael reached sustained winds of 115 miles (185 kilometres) per hour before making landfall. Despite these extreme weather conditions, the PEG PV system in Ariguanabo survived the storm unscathed. This impressive performance shows once again that the PEG substructure for photovoltaic modules developed by Jurchen Technology GmbH offers maximum protection even in storm-ravaged regions. The PEG system withstood Hurricane Ian back in September 2022 and has been producing green solar power for Cuba without a hitch ever since. As of November 2, this hurricane season's storms have claimed at least 386 lives and caused nearly $190 billion in damage. Beryl and Helene have claimed the most lives, while Helene and Milton have done the most damage. None of them has damaged the PEG plant in Cuba so far.
