    We 💙 thinc! This week, we had the pleasure of welcoming thinc! from the University of Mannheim to our HQ as part of their Berlin Journey, a student trip where they visited startups throughout the city. During their visit, our founder & CEO Benedict Kurz kicked things off with an introduction to Knowunity, followed by a Q&A where students came prepared with some seriously sharp questions. Then, we flipped the script. The group tackled a case study on Knowunity’s university expansion strategy, bringing fresh perspectives and creative solutions to the table. (And yes, we were definitely taking notes. Thanks for the insights! 😉) Over the years, we’ve welcomed many thinc! members into our team (shoutout to Jonas Muth, Max Kissel, Vân Anh Chu, and David Franken Villa!). Internships at Knowunity are a real learning experience.     How Ladder leverages “Nudging” on their paywalls 🎯 Ladder is a fitness training app that provides personalised workout plans and coaching from professional trainers, tailored to users' fitness goals and available equipment, encouraging consistent progress and health improvement. They offer premium subscriptions for personalised workout features 🏋️ Their paywalls are focused heavily on the yearly option, with a prominent tag on the yearly plan card and a customised copy. They include all premium benefits in a simple list on the one-page paywall. At Knowunity, we tested a similar approach, but did not see any impact on our conversion rate 〰️ A standout characteristic is their use of a psychological concept called "Nudging" Like other consumer subscription apps such as Flighty or Duolingo, they prime users with subtle hints. In Ladder’s case, a lot of elements, such as the app store rating, the pricing card tag or the upgrade badge try to underline the subscription value propositions. This subtly influences users' decision-making on whether to subscribe 🧠 Here are three things I suggest Ladder to test in a paywall A/B test: 1. Give all elements on the page more space to avoid cognitive overload by, for example, hiding the full list of all benefits 💭 2. Highlight the yearly option and its discount more prominently by, for example, showing all available options side-by-side 💸 3. As the Chief Revenue Officer at smapOne AG, Markus brought a wealth of knowledge to our all-day workshop. Together, we took a deep dive into every stage of the sales process at Knowunity. 💡 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝟯 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗰𝗮𝘂𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: 🔹 “Mirroring” is an effective tool when you want to better engage someone you’re communicating with 🔹 Investing in building relationships > Investing in perfecting content 🔹 Give thought to how you are framing questions. If you want someone’s time, try asking: “Is now the worst time to speak with you?” Beyond frameworks and strategies, the biggest takeaway was clear: 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝘂𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝘀 𝗸𝗲𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝗺𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗮𝗹𝗲𝘀.
