On the Road Again: Strengthening Connections and Gaining Insights In the first weeks of September, we embarked on a fruitful journey to some of Turkey's key agricultural regions. Our colleagues and Turkey specialists, Cagla Celikler and Ismet Yürek, visited producers and plantations in Mersin, Tarsus, and Bursa. In Tarsus, they assessed the progress of the upcoming pomegranate season. In Mersin, they reviewed the recently concluded watermelon season and began preparations for the citrus harvest. Finally, they headed to Bursa, where they monitored the fresh fig season, which was already in full swing and quickly approaching its end. “These trips are invaluable, giving us a deeper understanding of the evolving production processes. Even after many years in the industry, we learn something new with every visit. Staying close to the people and the land is what helps us deliver the best quality products,” says Ismet Yuerek.
