Geothermal reinjection is an important aspect for the sustainable and environmentally friendly operation of the geothermal system. Once energy has been extracted, the produced water is taken out of the binary cycle and gets discharged back into the geothermal field by way of injection wells. #ApplicationReport The efficiency of a 3-phase separator relies heavily on effective process control and the use of reliable instrumentation. A key parameter is the measurement of produced water flow at the separator outlet. An oil producer in Central America was searching for a rugged instrument for water cut measurement. After considering various options, they selected the OPTIFLUX 4300. This decision was driven by the instrument’s proven track record in produced water measurement, its high dynamic range and turndown ratio, and its full-bore design, which eliminates the need for rotating or intrusive components.
