Innovative Solutions for #SiliconWafer Manufacturing How flat is "super-flat"? As mentioned in our prior post, the requirements for 300mm #SiliconPrimeWafers are continuously increasing to enable next-step chip manufacturing with smaller technology node sizes and more complex structures. Due to this, even flatter wafers are necessary, which require highest precision and reliability on the appropriate manufacturing tools.  Our designated tools for 300mm silicon wafer manufacturing, the Wire Saw DW 292 and the Polisher AC 2000 P4, create a unique synergy to offer users the highest throughput with #best-in-class wafering quality at a "super-flat"-level.   With improved stability properties paired with comprehensive consumable selection, our DW 292 creates ideally prepared as-cut wafers for further processing on our double-sided polishers. The AC 2000 P4 finally flattens the wafers to a chip-manufacturing-ready quality.  Well then, how flat is "super-flat"? Our machines create flatness parameters at nanometer level. The #Kinematics Behind Fine Grinding   Today, in our third post, we discuss our kinematic principles that set fine grinding apart from other machining processes. Fine grinding follows similar kinematics to lapping, where workpieces are held in carriers and moved in a planetary motion. This technique ensures that the entire surface of the fine grinding wheel is effectively utilized, leading to even material removal and consistent results.   Our innovative machinery features an epicyclic drive system. Depending on the machine size and chosen option either the inner pin ring or also the outer pin ring rotate to create precise and controlled movements.
