Art fund promoting museum-work worldwide, bridging the gap between private patronage & public institutions

Info

LEAP is a contemporary art foundation that promotes museum work on a national and international level. It bridges the gap between private patronage on the one hand and public cultural institutions, museums, and artists on the other. LEAP receives contributions from private sponsors, companies, and other cooperation partners. All funds are used to support museums in the realization of their exhibition programs and the acquisition of contemporary art. With responsible philanthropic commitment, LEAP ensures that institutions have maximum freedom to foster artistic creativity. With a detailed project description and budget plan, any public institution can apply for funding. Deciding on the grants for the year 2022 is LEAP’s Board of Trustees: Susanne Pfeffer, Director of MMK Frankfurt, Anna-Catharina Gebbers, Curator at Hamburger Bahnhof - Museum für Gegenwart, Berlin, Daniel Baumann, Director of Kunsthalle Zurich, Samuel Leuenberger, Director of SALTS, Basel, and Curator of Parcours, Art Basel, Moritz Wesseler, Director of Fridericianum, Kassel, as well as five LEAP patrons. LEAP was created by philanthropist and art collector Bettina Böhm. Her network and experience of more than 30 years of philanthropic commitment are at the core of LEAP’s venture.
