"Are PostDocs Alright? From Leibniz PostDoc Survey Results to Broader Reflections on German Academia" - A joint event organised by Leibniz PostDoc Network and German Postdoc Network The newly published Leibniz PostDoc survey  https://lnkd.in/ek5hMGkm is over 100 pages of insights, but we’re here to make it accessible. We’ll not only present the key findings in a simple, easy-to-digest way but also open the floor to discuss with the postdoc community.   While the survey focuses on Leibniz postdocs, the challenges postdocs face— work-life imbalance, unclear career pathways, transparency issues in the academic system, and constraints imposed by the WissZeitVG legislation — reflect systemic issues that extend across many research institutions in Germany. 👉 Join us to discuss how these challenges impact postdocs across institutions and explore ideas for building more supportive and transparent career pathways in academia. 📅 When? 27.11.2024, 12:00-13:00 (CET) 🎤 Who? Leibniz PostDoc Network Survey Working Group Coordinators Dr Regina Becker (LIfBi - Leibniz-Institut für Bildungsverläufe) & Dr Harry Williams (Bernhard Nocht Institute for Tropical Medicine) 🎯 What? Survey insights + open discussion 👉 Register now! https://lnkd.in/dWbbjCZk Here’s how our coordinators feel about this (hint: they are excited to dive into the postdoc surveys and discuss the findings of our report with you!)

Day 2 of our General Assembly was full of events and productive work: -We had an interactive keynote webinar with Desiree Dickerson on managing conflicts. We are thrilled about the excellent workshop, Desiree Dickerson, again. -We discussed the strategy for the coming year for the network and the individual working groups. -We identified working group coordinators who - together with the spokespersons - build the steering committee of the network. -We elected 2 new spokespersons, who will with great enthusiasm lead us through the coming year. The event and even the breakout sessions were run in hybrid format and we had engaging discussions involving both in-person and online participants. Stay tuned for more from us!
