Your specialist for overpressure protection

Info

LESER - Company Safety valves "made in Germany" By tradition - always a step ahead. Loyalty by transformation. With more than 200 years of experience, LESER ranks among the pioneers of mechanical engineering in Germany. The company started in Germany in 1818 as a brass foundry and developed a product portfolio of components of mechanical equipment and machines during the "industrial revolution". In 1885 the company developed its first safety valve for the protection of steam boilers. Even at that early date, LESER products were working for the safety of man and the environment. Since the 1970's LESER has specialized only in safety valves. As industrial development has progressed, the demands for safety have continuously increased. Step by step, LESER has developed its safety valves to reflect the state of the art and extended its product range to provide solutions for all sectors of industry. Investment in research and development is therefore an important impetus for new developments at LESER and in the industry as a whole. LESER sets standards - now and in the future. Headquartered in Germany, with a state of the art factory and more than 1.000 employees worldwide LESER is supplying high quality safety valves over the world. Today, LESER's product range comprises a total of 8 product groups with 38 valve types. A variety of materials and sizes from DN 10 to DN 400 - 1/2" to 16", provide safe solutions for almost every industrial application. Annual production currently amounts to 130,000 safety valves. LESER is a member of VDMA, EVA, ASME and TÜV-Nord.

and silver goes to... LESER without a piece of the Eiffel Tower, but our joy about the medal is probably just as great as that of the Olympians in Paris. LESER has once again been awarded a silver medal by EcoVadis this year. In the past year, we have been able to improve in the areas of the environment and sustainable procurement in particular. What has changed? In 2023, we installed and commissioned solar systems at three LESER locations. More locations will follow. We were also able to reduce our paper consumption worldwide and another paper reduction project will be completed by the next financial year. LESER has also increased the proportion of its global purchasing volume that is covered by sustainability aspects to around 75% (+20%). We have also added further sustainability aspects to the supplier evaluation. Sustainability now accounts for a quarter of the supplier assessment. This is just a small insight into the sustainability activities that take place at LESER. We are still constantly improving occupational health and safety in our production, for example by introducing prescription safety goggles or installing protective equipment on all hydrostatic test benches and other systems. This rating puts LESER in the top 15% of companies in the last 12 months. However, we will not be resting on our laurels. We are looking forward to the next steps. #LESER #TheSafetyValve #ecovadis #olympicgames #silver #sustainability

Students from Hamburg University of Technology visited LESER Kontor as part of their fluid technology lecture. In the lecture by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Dieter Krause, practical examples from external lecturers are presented alongside the theory and an excursion is organized. The aim is for students to understand how to apply theory in practice. A total of 12 students, 3 PhD students and Prof. Krause took part in four lectures with two live demonstrations in the LESER chatroom and test bench. The feedback included: “The product is simple at first glance, but in reality it is very complex.”  “...an exciting mix of lectures and live demonstrations.” The excursion was also very well received by the doctoral students and Prof. Krause, so perhaps we will be able to welcome them to the LESER Kontor in future again. #LESER #TheSafetyValve #TUHamburg

Official groundbreaking ceremony at the Factory of Safety Valves in Hohenwestedt, Schleswig-Holstein   With a clear commitment to the production site in Hohenwestedt, LESER is #investing 41.3 million euros in its production plant in Schleswig-Holstein. #For the protection of people, the environment and industry, LESER is thus growing into one of the world's largest production sites for safety valves in Hohenwestedt.   On November 22, the time had finally come. The groundbreaking ceremony was officially celebrated with the participation of owner Martin Leser, district administrator Ingo Sander, mayor Jan Butenschön and Olaf Winkelmann from Bartram, the local general contractor.   More than 30 guests attended the ceremony in wintery snowfall and then gathered in the heated tent. Martin Leser described the long negotiations, thanked all those involved in the project for their commitment and thanked district administrator Sander and mayor Butenschön for their support. Kai-Uwe Weiß moderated the event. A big thank you also goes to the project team Holger Timm, Merle König and Jannik Sierks in Hohenwestedt and to marketing.   The new production building will cover 15,000 m² and be designed according to the KfW standard for #energy-efficient buildings, certification level 40. In addition to automated transport solutions, an automated bar storage system and a new pickling plant, modern offices, a new canteen with cooking facilities and an outdoor area for employees are also planned.

Lübeck Materials Day 2024: Challenges and solutions relating to the PFAS ban The Lübeck Materials Day 2024 took place this Monday at the Lübeck Chamber of Crafts. The central topic: the effects of the impending PFAS ban on industry and business. Almost 100 participants from a wide range of sectors exchanged views on pressing issues and innovative solutions. In its presentation, LESER focused on safety valves without PFAS. Under the title “A balancing act between safety and regulation”, Bernd Joergensen categorized the significance for LESER. Around 100,000 O-ring seals, for example, are among the PFAS-relevant components of safety valves every year. “A PFAS ban without sufficient transition time can endanger people and the environment,” says the mechanical engineer. “First of all, substitutes must be developed and available. After that, time is needed for their introduction into products and their approvals.”   Further key takeaways: 🔍 The enormous range of industries affected - from medical technology and the packaging industry to the energy sector. 📌 The term PFAS must be viewed critically and in a differentiated way. 💡 Initial approaches for PFAS alternatives were presented in lectures and at the accompanying exhibition. 🤝 The networking showed that regional exchange will play a key role in overcoming these challenges together. The collected presentation slides of the event will soon be available online at https://lnkd.in/gq42f9qy We would like to thank the IHK Lübeck, the WTSH, the Lübeck Chamber of Crafts, bachorskidesign (especially Rüdiger Bachorski for the invitation), the Lübeck University of Applied Sciences and all participants for an inspiring event. #PFAS #sustainability #innovation #Lübeck #safetyvalves #materialsday #LESER

Meeting of the LEAN Network Hamburg at LESER in Hohenwestedt LESER opened the doors of its Hohenwestedt site on 21.11.2024 for a special event: the Hamburg LEAN network event. Over 30 representatives from more than 20 manufacturing companies in northern Germany accepted the invitation to gain insights into the world of lean at LESER and to set new impulses together. One highlight of the event was the factory tour, which was conducted in three groups and focused on the areas of machining, assembly and logistics. The participants had the opportunity to experience the production processes up close, discuss the respective topics and identify potential for improvement directly on site. In addition to the practical insights, the event focused on the exchange of best practices and innovative approaches to implementing lean methods. Exciting keynote speeches and interactive workshops rounded off the program and offered participants valuable suggestions for optimizing their own processes. Networking was not neglected either: experiences were shared in open discussions, new contacts were made and ideas for future collaborations were developed. Many thanks to Lischke Consulting for the professional organization and to all participants for their inspiring contributions! We look forward to continuing this valuable exchange and further optimizing the future of production together. #LESER #TheSafetyValve #LEANNetwork
