That's why our official #UK distributor Kreglinger Cosmetics, hosted its exclusive "Formulating with Natural Cosmetic Ingredients" #seminar in Manchester, UK where Lignopure 's Head of Sales Gabriela Meza Armenta presented #LignoBase, a pioneer upcycled, bio-based ingredient line that is ready to revolutionize clean and natural beauty one product at the time. These rings are crucial to lignin's properties and its potential applications. Here's a breakdown on these amazing rings: What are aromatic rings? Aromatic rings, are cyclic (ring-shaped) molecules with a specific arrangement of atoms and chemical bonds that are characterized by their stability and unique chemical reactivity.  Aromatic rings in lignin are primarily composed of phenylpropane units, which are essentially aromatic rings with a propane side chain attached. These units are linked together in a complex network, giving lignin its structural strength and properties. The aromatic rings are a fundamental structural feature of lignin, influencing its properties and making it a valuable resource for various applications. They contribute to its strength, reactivity, antioxidant activity, and SPF-Boosting capabilities. Scaling bio-innovation is complex. For ten years, we've tackled the challenges of bringing LignoBase to life—from sourcing and processing to application development. Finding the right pilot facilities and equipment across Europe? A major obstacle. Quite a significant fraction of the last 10 years went into scaling up our technology, figuring out how to store, ship, process and control raw materials and products, not speaking of the actual product and application development... In 2020, we decided to invest into our own commercial demo-plant for the transformation of crude #lignin into natural, first-of-their-kind multifunctional cosmetic ingredients. But in order to get into this position in the first place, we needed to figure out what equipment and process chain truly works for us at scale. And this we needed to do with actual test runs in pilot facilities - otherwise the bad surprises are guaranteed! However, finding this kind of equipment is rather difficult: Equipment providers are scattered all over #Europe, piloting facilities normally very versatile in focus, a large common data-base, especially focused on biobased innovation, not available. That's why we're proud to partner with Pilots4U by CoPilot as bio-innovators and be able to offer Lignopure 's facilities to the lignin ecosystem. Unlike other continents, Europe has a performing network of (𝟭𝟬𝟬+) 𝗽𝗶𝗹𝗼𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗼 𝗳𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 for the bioeconomy, open access and state-of-the-art.  A 𝗳𝗹𝘆𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗲𝗹 for scaling up innovation in 𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗯𝗶𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆 that harnesses the amazing power of micro-organisms.   EuropaBio outlines well the importance of these developments in the attached vision paper. If we in Europe intend to move away from the fossil economy, it is unthinkable that 𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗯𝗶𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆 would not be in the scope of the #EUBiotechAct.
