  • ****TGIF-content post no. 152****   Today: Civil society statement calls for clearer 1.5 degree targets in the CSRD   🧐 A Civil Society Statement, puplished from the WWF, criticises the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) for its vague language. The CSRD suggests that companies assess their "level of compatibility" with the 1.5°C goal by comparing their targets to benchmarks and providing contextual information. The statement argues that the lack of clear guardrails of the term "level of compatibility" could allow companies to set less ambitious targets while still claiming compliance, posing a risk of greenwashing and undermining transparency.   📉 This loose interpretation of the CSRD could let companies align with a 3°C scenario and still be seen as compliant, misleading investors and stakeholders, the statement said.    📢 The civil society organizations urge EFRAG to strengthen the guidance, to consider scientific evidence and clear policy objectives in the Climate Transition Plan. Specifically, it is recommended that the guidance require companies to publish climate transition plans with 1.5°C-compatible targets  and disclose their plans and timelines if they do not have such targets.     💚 #Sustainability #Team #WWF #CSRD     Source: https://lnkd.in/daSG7DFu

  • 👨💻 We are delighted to announce that our Magnolia team is growing. With his technical background, he ventured into the space of sustainable innovations as well as negative emissions technologies (NETs) and their critical role in climate scenarios. He explored the latter with his master’s thesis by investigating the techno-economic impact of different geographic locations and types of heat sources on direct air capture. 🏔️🎬 Luc loves traveling and hiking, watching series and movies, and meeting up with friends and family while checking out new cafés and restaurants. #team #sustainability

  • ****TGIF-content post no. 151****   Today:  Resilience Analyse   📊 The resilience analysis is required for all companies, who need to report under the CSRD. The analysis should determine the expected financial impact of climate change on your company. How resilient your strategy and business model are and what adjustments may be necessary are core elements of the resilience analysis. But how exactly do you need to proceed with the analysis?    🌳 The first task is to analyse climate resilience. In this step, risk and opportunity drivers are identified along the value chain. This also includes choosing temperature paths, scenario sources and appropriate time horizons. In addition, a quantitative evaluation of cost and revenue effects is carried out for each business area.    🗂️ Secondly, the resilience is evaluated. The results from the first step are transferred to the financial position at company level. Factors which influence resilience, and their strategic categorisation are identified. This is followed by the evaluation of possible business potential.    📌 The third and final step of the resilience analysis is action planning. This primarily includes the development of measures to increase the resilience of your company. The OpEx and CapEx requirements for implementation are estimated. Finally, the time schedule and the achievement of milestones are documented.    💚 #Sustainability #Team #CSRD

  • ****TGIF-content post no. 150****   Today: FAQ's on the interpretation and implementation of the EU Taxonomy   🛠️ On 29 November 2024, the EU Commission published new FAQ’s (Draft Commission Notice) on the EU Taxonomy Regulation with the goal of assisting stakeholders in meeting regulatory requirements efficiently and reducing the administrative burden, while ensuring that the disclosed information is both comparable and valuable for advancing sustainable finance initiatives.   💡 The draft document addresses 155 questions, providing detailed guidance on interpreting and implementing the EU Taxonomy Environmental Delegated Act, Climate Delegated Act, and Disclosures Delegated Act. It covers overarching taxonomy requirements and technical screening criteria for activities in sectors like energy, transport, and manufacturing, as specified in the Taxonomy Climate and Environmental Delegated Acts.   ✔️ Also addressed and clarified are the ‘do no significant harm’ (DNSH) criteria, which ensure that economic activities contributing to one environmental objective under the Taxonomy Regulation do not adversely impact any of the other environmental objectives.     💚 #Sustainability #Team #EU-Taxonomy    Source: https://lnkd.in/e2jFG7Kg
