Mayr Transmissions offer a wide range of power transmission products including friction and mechanical torque limiters, electromagnetic clutches, fail-safe spring applied brakes and flexible shaft couplings. Standard products are supplied from UK based stocks whilst special to application designs can be produced in our German manufacturing facility or where possible standard products can be modified locally to reduce delivery lead-times. Mayr representatives cover the whole of the UK and Ireland and are happy to visit your site to discuss your application and recommend / develop an effective solution. Rather than simply supplying standard products from our catalogues we prefer to work closely with our customers to really understand their needs and offer a solution that delivers both performance and financial benefits. Key markets include machine tools, packaging, bottling, food processing, labeling & printing and Mayr's niche products are supplied globally to the theatre, green energy, elevator and escalator industries.

We've been asked, so Alex has answered! What is a ROBA®-brake-checker? Mayr’s ROBA®-brake-checker is an advanced, sensorless monitoring module designed to add reliability and improve the safety of applications using Mayr electromagnetic brakes. It achieves this by continuously monitoring and analysing current and voltage, to detect switching condition (brake on / brake off), brake wear and critical coil temperature and by doing so it can flag up potential errors before they even occur, ensuring optimal operational safety. What are the Advantages? ✅ Cabinet-based module allowing fully remote monitoring of brake condition and ‘health’. ✅ No delicate, easily damaged and environment-sensitive switches on the brake. ✅ Standard design brakes can be used which are cheaper and on a shorter lead-time. ✅ Existing systems with unmonitored brakes can be upgraded in the field. ✅ Provides predictive maintenance signals to allow potential issues to be addressed before they result in system downtime. ✅ Can be used with various ROBA-stop® brake designs. ✅ Helps to increase the Functional Safety Rating of machinery / systems (PL/SIL). #WeAreMayr #AlexAnswers
