💡 Exploring the Complex Link Between SLE and APS Systemic lupus erythematosus (#SLE) and anti-phospholipid syndrome (#APS) are often seen as closely related #diseases. However, while they share common features—such as overlapping autoantibodies and genetic susceptibility—research reveals that these are distinct entities within the spectrum of systemic autoimmune diseases. 🔍 Did you know? Up to 40% of SLE patients test positive for phospholipid antibodies (#aPL). A notable proportion of primary APS #patients carry antinuclear (#ANA) and #dsDNA #antibodies, yet they do not develop full-blown SLE even after a decade of follow-up. Join Martin Aringer and leading European experts at our 2-day congress to delve into the latest advancements in SLE and APS research. Together, we’ll explore the breakthroughs of the past year and shape the future of care for these complex conditions. 🗓 Don’t miss out! 👉 https://lnkd.in/eY7rJMfp #SystemicLupusErythematosus #AntiPhospholipidSyndrome #Rheumatology

Small-Vessel Vasculitis: Navigating Complex Diagnoses #SmallVesselVasculitis encompasses a group of rare but impactful #diseases characterized by #inflammation of smaller blood vessels, such as #arterioles, #venules, and #capillaries. This inflammation can restrict #blood flow, leading to damage in vital #organs and #tissues. The condition can manifest systemically or be limited to the #skin, making it a diagnostic and clinical #challenge. #ANCA-associated vasculitis is the most common type in adults, with subtypes including microscopic #polyangiitis, #Wegener’s #granulomatosis, #ChurgStraussSyndrome, and drug-induced #vasculitis. In contrast, non-ANCA-associated vasculitis, such as #HenochSchönlein #purpura, is more common in children. We’re excited to offer an in-depth lecture on Small-Vessel Vasculitis at the 3rd #Rheumatology #Update #Europe, led by leading expert in the field Benjamin Terrier. This session will explore diagnostic nuances, classification, and treatment strategies for these complex conditions. Join us to deepen your understanding and enhance your ability to manage these challenging cases effectively. Don’t miss this essential update for every practicing rheumatologist! https://lnkd.in/eY7rJMfp

Large-Vessel Vasculitis: Insights and Innovations for Rheumatologists #LargeVesselVasculitis, including giant cell arteritis (#GCA) and #Takayasu #arteritis, poses unique challenges for #rheumatologists. In patients over 50, large-vessel giant cell arteritis (#LV-GCA) often affects the #aorta and its branches, frequently going undiagnosed until advanced imaging techniques— such as #MRA, #CTA, #FDG-PET-CT, or #ultrasonography — are employed. Monitoring for complications like aortic #aneurysm formation remains essential for long-term management. This condition often presents with nonspecific constitutional #symptoms, making timely #diagnosis and treatment a challenge. Furthermore, while #imaging has transformed our ability to identify and diagnose LV-GCA, its role in monitoring treatment response continues to evolve, presenting exciting opportunities for future research. We are delighted to feature Christian Dejaco in a dedicated #lecture on Large-Vessel Vasculitis at the 3rd #Rheumatology #Update #Europe. This session will provide an in-depth look at the latest diagnostic strategies, clinical challenges, and emerging research in this complex field. Don’t miss this opportunity to enhance your expertise and provide better care for patients with large-vessel vasculitis. https://lnkd.in/eY7rJMfp

Crystalline Arthropathies: Insights for Rheumatologists As rheumatologists, you know the significant impact crystalline arthropathies, such as #gout and calcium pyrophosphate deposition (#CPPD), can have on your patients. These joint disorders, caused by #crystal deposits in the #joints and surrounding soft tissues, can lead to chronic joint damage and even #kidney disease if left untreated. Gout, the most common type, stems from urate crystal buildup due to elevated uric acid levels, resulting in severe #pain and #inflammation. CPPD, or #pseudogout, involves calcium pyrophosphate dihydrate crystals, though many with such deposits remain asymptomatic—leaving much to be explored about its causes. We’re thrilled to have Till Uhlig among the distinguished faculty of the 3rd #Rheumatology #Update #Europe, presenting the latest research and practical insights on gout and #crystalarthropathies. This is an invaluable opportunity for you to deepen your knowledge and bring cutting-edge expertise to your practice. Join us to stay at the forefront of rheumatology care. https://lnkd.in/eY7rJMfp
