I was once in an academic meeting, trying to come up with a short explanation of what I was doing with my academic career. One professor concluded: "Now I understand, you’re dedicated to Recycling SMEs!". Could that be the title of a new book?

Sind Volkswagen und Porsche aktuell realistisch bewertet? Die Marktkapitalisierung der Volkswagen AG beträgt aktuell etwa 45,8 Milliarden Euro. Davon entfallen allein etwa 40,6 Milliarden Euro auf den 75%-Anteil an der Porsche AG. Dieser hat einen klar identifizierbaren Wert, weil die Porsche AG seit 2022 ebenfalls an der Börse notiert ist und bei einer Marktkapitalisierung von etwa 54,3 Milliarden Euro notiert (Werte Yahoo Finance, am 11.01.2025). Das bedeutet aber im Umkehrschluss, dass der Markt den gesamten Rest des Konzerns – mit Marken wie Volkswagen, Audi, Škoda, Bentley, MAN, Lamborghini und Ducati – nur mit einem Equity Value von etwa 5,1 Milliarden Euro bewerten würde, weil die Gesamt-Bewertung des Konzerns ja eben nur bei 45,8 Milliarden Euro liegt. Diese Diskrepanz zeigt, wie irrational Bewertungen an den Finanzmärkten manchmal erscheinen können. Auch wenn einzelne Bereiche des Konzerns, wie etwa die Marken Volkswagen und Audi sich derzeit in sehr schwerem Fahrwasser befinden, ist diese Bewertung aus meiner Sicht dennoch überraschend niedrig. Vielleicht ist das ein gutes Beispiel dafür, dass nicht alle Anleger immer rational handeln. So könnte die Porsche AG entweder deutlich überbewertet, oder die Volkswagen AG unterbewertet sein. Wie schätzt Ihr das Verhältnis ein?
