Vegan, but with a twist! Last week, I facilitated a workshop at a medium-sized company focused on developing sustainability ideas and approaches. In addition to a great team event and the creation of concrete sustainability initiatives, we concluded with a shared meal. The menu? Schnitzel “Wiener Art” with potato salad and remoulade. For the vegans, a meat-free option was available. 15 traditional, 2 vegan… or so they thought. It was a wonderful time sharing ideas at the table. The real surprise came at the end when I revealed that the entire team had consumed approx. 90% fewer resources. How was this possible? Everything was vegan. So gut sind die alternativen Produkte heutzutage und so wenig Verzicht dabei. 🌱 Alternative Proteins: A Retrospective and a Look Ahead 🌱 What a ride it’s been since the end of 2018! 🍔🌭 Since then, sales, products, and developments in the field of alternative proteins have grown rapidly. However, we've been observing a decline recently, as many investors have withdrawn from the market. Several concepts lacking sustainability are exiting this space, and there’s still a lot of market consolidation happening. Despite these challenges, optimism remains: Starting in 2025, we expect a renewed upswing, and we’re confident that the demand for consulting services on innovative products will significantly increase again. 🌱 Alternative Proteine: Ein Rückblick und ein Ausblick 🌱 Was war das für ein Ritt ab Ende 2018! 🍔🌭 Seitdem haben sich die Umsätze, Produkte und Entwicklungen im Bereich der alternativen Proteine rasant entwickelt. Doch seit einiger Zeit beobachten wir einen Rückgang, nachdem sich viele Investoren aus dem Markt zurückgezogen haben. Viele Konzepte mit wenig Tragfähigkeit verabschieden sich aus diesem Bereich und es gibt weiterhin noch einiges an Marktbereinigung. Trotz dieser Herausforderungen bleibt die Zuversicht bestehen: Ab 2025 erwarten wir einen erneuten Aufschwung, und wir sind überzeugt, dass die Nachfrage nach Beratungsleistungen für innovative Produkte wieder deutlich zunehmen wird.
