Are we doing enough to support Gaza’s most vulnerable? The humanitarian crisis in #Gaza continues to unfold with harrowing statistics. According to recent report from UNICEF (Published 17 December, 2024): 1️⃣ Over 1.5 million children urgently need #humanitarian aid. 90% of the #population—approximately 1.9 million people—are internally displaced, struggling to survive amidst war-torn conditions. 2️⃣ Schools, hospitals, and homes have suffered catastrophic damage, with 534 schools affected, leaving 3.3 million people in need of immediate assistance. 3️⃣ Since October 7, 2023, over 44,000 #Palestinians have reportedly lost their lives, with tragic estimates suggesting 50% are women and children. 4️⃣ Food insecurity is rampant, with 80% of households #reporting at least one child going without food in the past three days. While #humanitarian efforts by organizations like UNICEF have brought some relief—reaching over 1 million individuals with cash assistance and restoring learning for 52,000 children—the need scale far exceeds the available #resources.
