Neptune Energy is proud to present the first lithium carbonate produced from Altmark reservoir brine. This achievement is the result of our initial Direct Lithium Extraction (DLE) pilot test, conducted by Geolith with support from KBR, Inc. After successful extraction lithium chloride from the eluate was converted into technical-grade lithium carbonate at Neptune’s laboratory in Steinitz. Now we are heading towards battery-grade lithium. A big thanks to all teams involved in this great achievement!

Producing gas & oil, exploring future energy, transforming sites into nature.
Info
We extract resources for everyone - for our everyday lives. Around 380 colleagues support the production of natural gas and crude oil from 31 fields in Germany, making an important contribution to domestic supply security. In 2022, a total of 5.9 terawatt hours of natural gas and 280,000 tonnes of crude oil were produced, generating a revenue of 658 million euros. Our operational centres are located in western Lower Saxony, the Rhine Valley, and the Altmark region, with our company headquarters in Hanover. Locally, we can look back on 135 years of tradition and are simultaneously working on the transformation of our company. For us, this means producing crude oil and natural gas with as few emissions as possible and as close to the consumer as possible. We are also using our technical expertise and infrastructure to find solutions for a sustainable future. Our experts are working today on the raw materials for tomorrow - whether it's domestic lithium to enable electromobility or climate-friendly heat from geothermal energy. We also fulfil our responsibility towards the environment: our decommissioning team transforms former boreholes and operating sites back into fields and nature.

Axel A.O. Wenke, Director of New Energy & BD at Neptune Energy, had the pleasure of presenting our innovative Direct Lithium Extraction project in the Altmark region earlier this week at the LithiumDays 2024 event in Bavaria, hosted by ITEL - Deutsches Lithiuminstitut GmbH. He shared exciting updates on the ongoing pilot test currently underway at Neptune Energy's Steinitz site.

Strong support for domestic raw material production in Germany. Nearly 80 percent of the population believes it is crucial to produce raw materials nationally to reduce dependency on imports. Priorities include critical sectors like technology (e.g., lithium) and energy (e.g., oil and natural gas). See more results from the latest Neptune Energy Raw Material Survey (conducted by Civey, October 2024) on our website: https://lnkd.in/gnqnn-U8

We are excited to announce the start of the lithium production pilot phase in the Altmark region in Saxony-Anhalt. This milestone marks the next step in Neptune Energy’s journey to extract lithium from brine using innovative technology. The first pilot unit is provided by Geolith and the refinery process will be operated by KBR, Inc. We are proud to drive sustainable solutions and securing the supply of critical raw material production in Germany. Find more details in our press release: https://shorturl.at/EKHT3

Progress is underway! 🚀 We’re excited to share the first visible progress at our well pad for the Adorf Z19 project in Georgsdorf! This drone footage from October shows construction in full swing, setting the stage for the next phase of development. Start of drilling operations is scheduled for Q1/2025. The project will expand local natural gas production in Western Lower-Saxony and will help to secure regional energy supply.

Last week, we had the pleasure of welcoming District Governor Marc-André Burgdorf to our Rühlermoor location, Neptune Energy’s largest site with around 170 employees. During the visit, he took part in constructive discussions with Andreas Scheck (CEO), Michael Funke (Head of Operations, District West), and Stefan Steininger (Head of Technical Services Workover). The tour included a visit to our permanently manned station, where we monitor all events and operations. We appreciate his interest in our work and the opportunity to show our teams’ commitment to ensuring quality and development on a regional level. 📷: Michael Funke, Marc-André Burgdorf, Andreas Scheck and Stefan Steininger

Safety first! 🚒 Last weekend, Neptune Energy hosted a large-scale emergency response drill at our Adorf gas production site, involving around 17 fire trucks and numerous volunteer firefighters. The exercise focussed on rescue operations, handling of hazardous materials, and chemical containment. We are proud to support local fire brigades in boosting their readiness and ensuring our sites are well-prepared for any eventuality. A special thanks to all firefighters for their great personal contribution to our safety!

Neptune Energy is celebrating 75 years of oil production in Scheerhorn. Production began back in 1949 under one of our predecessors, and over the decades our production has reached a current total of almost 65 million barrels of oil. We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has been part of this journey — past, present and in the future.

Neptune Energy announced the start of a decommissioning campaign in the State of Thuringia, funded by the Thuringian Ministry for the Environment, Mining and Conservation. By 2027, a total of eleven former gas wells in various fields will be fully abandoned and the land restored to its original state. This project reflects our commitment to restoring former production sites and fulfilling our responsibility as an operator. The steel drilling rig model has stood at a roundabout in the community of Geeste-Dalum for several months now, funded by local businesses, including Neptune Energy. Yesterday, a small event was held to unveil the information plaque, further celebrating the community's rich oil industry heritage. We are proud to honour our history and tight bond with the Emsland region.
