Don't miss the kick-off of our new #RWTHExpertHub #Neurosys | We are delighted to announce the launch of our sixth Expert Hub, as part of the NeuroSys Cluster. The Expert Hub NeuroSys is designed to promote interdisciplinary exchange between students, researchers interested in entrepreneurship, as well as start-ups well-established companies and further relevant stakeholders in the field of neuromorphic #computing and #AI #hardware development. With modern AI infrastructure heavily depending on the practical implementation of innovative hardware concepts, our goal is to facilitate the entrepreneurial implementation of promising technologies and business ideas. During the Kick-Off Meeting, we will introduce the NeuroSys Expert Hub, its objectives, and its tasks. To this end, we have put together an exciting agenda with keynotes by investors, start-ups and scientists, including Peter Letmathe, Jasmin Quill, Lennart Stoepel (Chair of Management Accounting), Max Lemme (ELD, RWTH Aachen University), Mareike Smolka and Frieder Bögner (Human Technology Center), Dr. Ansgar Schleicher (TVF | TechVision Fonds), PD Dr. Felix Gremse (Gremse-IT), Roberta Caterino, Tobias Recker and Sabine Kaiser (RWTH Innovation). In addition, Stadt Aachen, KI.NRW and AGIT MBH will join us to exhibit their work in the field. Afterwards, there will be a panel discussion and opportunities to network and gain insights into the regional start-up scene. In a fruitful collaboration between #IHP Frankfurt (Oder), Brandenburgische Technische Universität Cottbus-Senftenberg, Forschungszentrum Jülich, and more, a digital twin for RRAMs has been developed and published in Scientific Reports 🎉 Read here: https://lnkd.in/ewfFpiT9. 🔍 This digital twin uses resistance state measurements, recreating their variation automatically when loading experimental data. Integrated seamlessly into a system-level simulator, this tool enables efficient performance evaluation of RRAM devices for inference workloads. 💡 A major leap toward future computing innovations!

NEOROTEC's principal investigators have contributed to a new review article "Roadmap to #neuromorphic computing with emerging technologies" in APL Materials (https://lnkd.in/efFAnhE4). The article highlights the urgent need for greater energy efficiency in artificial intelligence and argues that neuromorphic computing is a potential solution to this challenge. It brings together experts in materials science, device and circuit design, system design, and algorithm and software development to collectively contribute to the advancing field of neuromorphic engineering and computing. The long list of honorary authors in the field of neuromorphic computing includes five members of the Peter Grünberg Institut (PGI) at Forschungszentrum Jülich: Regina Dittmann, John Paul Strachan, Ilia Valov, Rainer Waser and Stefan Wiefels.
