💡 Explaining optogenetics to a banker? Been there. Multiple times. Almost made me quit opto biolabs GmbH. After every pitch, I’d get the same frustrating questions: ❓ "In month 26, can you sell 16 instead of 14 devices?" ❓ "Can you turn this into a consumable?" ❓ "Can you find an industry expert to prove this makes sense?" ❓ "Who would buy your company?" ❓ "When will you be ready to sell your company?" Every time, it felt… off. Here’s what I took away from those conversations: 1️⃣ You don’t understand the tech – fair, took me years. 2️⃣ You don't want to understand the tech - but you want to invest in it? 3️⃣ You don’t trust my expertise – ouch. 4️⃣ You dictate my company’s goals? – that’s a bit overreaching. 🚨 We don’t need more bankers trying to “de-risk” innovation for their own gain. ✅ We need real tech angels. Investors who get the risks, see the potential, and take that leap with founders.
