We are all set to decarbonize industrial process heat!   👉 We successfully pre-commissioned the Power-to-Heat plant that will replace natural gas as the heat source in a KRAFTBLOCK project. This combination of Power-to-Heat system with thermal energy storage on high-temperatures is one of the first of its kind and sets an example for other industries to electrify and decarbonize their production process in a flexible way.   ⚡ ➡ ♨ Our Power-to-Heat plant converts surplus renewable energy into heat in the Kraftblock system. After the conversion it is stored at high temperatures in the unique storage of Kraftblock. Then the heat is brought to the application when needed. The system lowers your carbon emissions and energy cost by replacing fossil fuels with cheap electricity that occurs due to high amounts of green energy in the electricity mix.   ✔ By pre-commissioning we can reduce the possibility of unexpected errors and ensure a high reliability. Due to the importance of heat production for processes, reliability is crucial as a problem can lead to a production downtime. That is why we will only deliver plants that have been thoroughly tested first at our technical center before installing it at the customers facilities.   🙏 Last but not least we would like to thank everyone involved in this project.   🎥 Video by Frank Wiesen #powertoheat #energystorage #processheat #decarbonization #electrification #cleantech

We electrify your process heat with high temperature Power-to-Heat plants! Take advantage of cheap electricity and tackle the challenges of the energy transition!

❗ Why you shouldn’t wait too long to electrify your process heat ❗   One thing is certain. Gas prices will increase in the coming years! But still Companies delay their electrification plans due to the uncertainty of energy prices.   Specifically there are two drivers that soon will increase the cost of gas!     1️⃣    Carbon prices will increase ❗   Carbon prices are a key tool for governments to achieve climate targets.   Since 2005 large industrial plants have to participate in the European Emission Trading System (EU ETS 1).   Smaller plants were only affected by national carbon prices, which were only implemented in the last couple of years.   In both cases the carbon prices will increase for industrial companies.   Especially energy intense industrial plants are granted free certificates to ensure their international competitiveness. Starting in 2026 the EU will gradually reduce the amount of free certificates they give away. Only 48,5% of free certificates will be granted in 2030 and none in 2034.   The other big change for smaller industrial plants will come in 2027.   Starting then national carbon prices are replaced by the second ETS for heating, transport and smaller industrial plants in which every state of the EU has to take part in.     2️⃣   Grid fees will increase ❗   Just like with electricity you also pay grid fees for using the gas grid.   With every gas customer switching to a green energy source the cost are distributed over less end users which results in a higher share for those who switch last. Conclusion:   No one can reliably predict how the purchasing price of gas will develop in the coming years.   But one thing is certain: Politically induced price components and price components related to the gas infrastructure will increase! So, when is your company switching to electricity?

We electrify your process heat with high temperature Power-to-Heat plants! Take advantage of cheap electricity and tackle the challenges of the energy transition!

We continue to fight for the electrification of process heat! ⚡ ➡ ♨   We can’t say this often enough: ❗ High temperature Power-to-Heat with thermal storages is the future of process heat! It is cheap in CAPEX and OPEX and enables a 100 % implementation of renewables in your company!   🤝 We are not the only ones that are convinced that the direct electrification is the way into a successful future for companies and countries. And together we fight for it every day.     Here’s what we are up against: 👇   1️⃣ The current hype around hydrogen. It lets people think that it is the only and best solution to replace fossil fuels. But people miss out on its higher capital expenditures and its comparatively bad efficiency which results in a higher energy consumption and ultimately even more electricity needed.   2️⃣ Electricity prices that are way higher than prices for fossil fuels.   3️⃣ Regulatory frameworks that prevent the use of cheap intermittent energy.     But the hard work is slowly but surely paying off. 💪   1️⃣ More and more governments realize that the direct electrification offers more advantages than the indirect electrification with hydrogen.   2️⃣ The expansion of renewable energies is picking up pace and lowering electricity prices in the process. Plus it creates more negative electricity price periods, which are essential for short payback times.   3️⃣ Regulatory frameworks are in the process of being changed and adapted to lay the groundwork for a flexible and highly economic use of electricity.     Although the future looks promising, we are not done fighting.   Especially the fact that not enough people know about the benefits of electrification keeps us going.   #electrification #sustainability #powertoheat #thermalstorage #industry

We electrify your process heat with high temperature Power-to-Heat plants! Take advantage of cheap electricity and tackle the challenges of the energy transition!

How governments support investments in Power-to-Heat! 💶   Many companies set themselves ambitious climate targets.   But becoming climate neutral comes with large investments in new clean-tech systems.   To lower the threshold of investments, a lot of governments support these investments financially.     Here’s how Germany does it.   The Federal Grant Programme for Energy and Resource Efficiency in Industry supports the investments in electrification measures among other things.   Small sized businesses receive financial support of up to 45 % of the investment costs from the government, while medium sized get up to 35%.   Businesses without a SMB status can get up to 25% support.   If the electricity exclusively comes from renewable sources, you are eligible for a further 10% decarbonization bonus! Other states of the EU have similar grant programs. You can find some examples in the comments. ⬇ #electrification #industry #grants #decarbonization

We electrify your process heat with high temperature Power-to-Heat plants! Take advantage of cheap electricity and tackle the challenges of the energy transition!

“That one is going to be a problem” …  ... is a sentence I heard from a lot of Lithium Battery Recyclers when talking about a new shipment of end-of-life batteries.   🔋 🔥 I often hear in discussions that some end-of-life batteries arrive already half burned or seriously damaged. The dilemma is now, that you don’t want to accept the damaged battery and put your employees and facilities at risk but also don’t want to send it back and risk it catching fire on the streets.   So how can you escape that dilemma?   👉 With a batch operated Deactivation Furnace from Otto Junker Solutions GmbH you can take the risk out of those problematic batteries by first separating it from the other batteries and placing it in the furnace. It is robust against corrosion, can handle the temperatures and the exhaust gas treatment takes care of the fumes. Afterwards you have a battery that is free from electrolyte and voltages and is therefore safe. #lithium #batteries #recycling #circulareconomy #sustainability
