Last week, the Hydrogen Council CEO Board was pleased to host Germany’s Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Climate Action Robert Habeck and the European Commission Executive Vice President for the European Green Deal Maroš Šefčovič for a roundtable discussion. The dialogue centered around key priorities for Germany and Europe to: ➡️ Boost competitiveness and unlock next-generation manufacturing ➡️ Strengthen #SecurityOfSupply and forge new trade partnerships, supporting greater political stability globally ➡️ Generate #cleanjobs in Europe and in partner countries fuelling sustainable supply chains What next? In the next 18 months, the European Union Member States, together with the incoming European Commission, have a unique opportunity to accelerate #hydrogen deployment with bold action as it relates to: 1️⃣ Greater certainty and clarity of legislative frameworks 2️⃣ Streamlined access to funding instruments 3️⃣ Technology inclusive approach to achieving decarbonisation targets 4️⃣ Level playing field for locally produced and imported hydrogen and its derivatives 5️⃣ Incentives for hydrogen uptake in industry and mobility applications for road transport to catalyse the market As the Hydrogen Council, we look forward to working with governments to remove project bottlenecks and accelerate investment towards a sustainable future!
