Well deserved, as DIT Baptiste Marnière’s anecdote from set suggests: 🗣️“Demi Moore’s performance completely fascinated me, so much so that I had to watch the playbacks to make sure everything was okay because I hadn’t been looking at the image technically at all.“ 👉A rare moment of distraction! 😀 The use of many different cameras, lenses, and VFX usually called for Baptiste's full concentration and expertise:„It was a good color grading challenge to match all those shots together.“ 👉With trusted data manager Maëva Drouin handling data in Silverstack XT, Baptiste was free to focus on maintaining look consistency in Livegrade Pro.     #productioninsight 🎬 Gladiator 2 After 25 years, Sr. Ridley Scott’s Oscar-winning classic Gladiator returns to the big screen with a thrilling sequel. We spoke to DIT Gastone Ferrante about his involvement in this massive production: 👉 To let the Gladiator shine in his battles on screen, Gastone and his team wrestled their own challenges behind the scenes. Think intense filming conditions in Morocco and Malta, complex workflows with up to 12 cameras, VFX-heavy scenes, and some unpredictable directing. 👉Another unique challenge? As Ridley Scott and DP John Mathieson worked from a trailer, Gastone had to redesign his workflow and live grading setup to join them inside. With Scott heavily involved in the look development, things didn’t necessarily get easier… 👉However, as head of the entire DIT team (including up to 10 people), Gastone’s responsibilities extended far beyond the trailer.     📣ACES 2.0 rollout: Custom beta versions of Silverstack and Livegrade are available now! Earlier this year, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences began rolling out ACES 2.0 by announcing a release schedule and the availability of the developer release kit. This included all the necessary material to start implementing ACES 2.0 - a new version of the open-source industry standard for color management. Over the last months, we underwent an initial testing phase of the ACES updates in our software products. We are now ready to share custom beta versions of Silverstack and Livegrade, plus an additional ACES 2.0 transforms package. However, the journey is not complete; final interoperability tests with other vendors' implementations of ACES 2.0 are still pending.
