We had the chance to talk to Alejandro Isaza Pizarro when we were filming our eGenius project from the University of Stuttgart – Institute of Aircraft Design (IFB). 🎙️ Alejandro grew up watching his Father do a honourable Job as an air ambulance pilot. Having grown up with that passion for aviation he has now found his own path in aerospace engineering. ✈️ This interview was super spontaneous but is really an incredible interesting one at that. Real Dairy milk without traditional dairy farming? This idea might sound counterintuitive, but it is exactly what German startup Senara GmbH is turning into reality by developing a process to create authentic milk from cultured milk cells - no factory farming, no methane emissions and no need for vast amounts of farming land! orl How does it work? 🤔 🔬 Cell cultivation - Whilest minimizing animal intervention, milk-producing cells are being directly isolated from the cows milk itself 🧫 Growth in Bioreactors - Placed in bioreactors the cells are provided with optimal conditions and nourished wit essential nutrients, allowing them to naturally produce mire milk - just as they would inside a cow 🥛The Final Product - The milk harvested from this process contains the same proteins, fats and nutrients as conventional dairy milk! Furthermore, it's composition can be adjusted to be lactose-free or more enhanced in certain nutritional contents Why is this a Big Deal? 🚀 🌱Sustainability - Producing milk without cows could drastically cut greenhouse gas emissions, lower water usage and reduce deforestaion due to large-scale cattle farming 🛡️Health and Safety - No added growth hormones, antibiotics or bacterial contamination 🐄 Cruelty-Free - The process eliminates the need for dairy farms, offering a real dairy alternative without animal exploitation 🌍Is lab-grown milk the future?
