Machine Learning for Science - starting with Quantum Technologies

Info

Qruise develops software that helps scientists and researchers use Machine Learning tools in their day-to-day scientific workflows without having to worry about what's under the hood. ML has revolutionised how science is being done and taking advantage of this new numerical toolset should not require having a full time ML scientist on the team to design, develop and deploy systems. Qruise is developing ML for Science as a productised toolset making ML driven discovery accessible to all. Our first offerings address the growing pains of controlling current generation noisy quantum computers (NISQ devices) and provide improvements in operational fidelities through the use of ML & Quantum Optimal Control.

Excited for the APS Global Physics Summit next month? Us too 🌖🔭   Since the last APS meeting, we’ve made significant progress in enhancing our optimal control algorithms and we can’t wait to share it with you!💫   A big portion of this work has focused on qubits. Our algorithms reliably determine the optimal control pulse parameters that give the maximum possible fidelity, whilst maintaining short pulse durations. And the best part? They’re platform independent and work effectively for single- and multi-qubit systems ⚛️   But that’s not all! We’re thrilled to be exploring magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) 🧲 We’ve been developing highly selective and robust control pulse sequences that precisely target a single sample slice, minimising spin excitations in other slices for more accurate and efficient imaging 🙌   📆 If you want to find out more, mark these talks & poster in your calendar now or visit our Qruise APS page for all the relevant info: https://lnkd.in/eFmxJ2ks   You can also find us at Booth 301 from Tuesday to Thursday – come say hi!👋   American Physical Society #APS25 #QuantumComputing #MRI

Heading to the APS Global Physics Summit? So are we ⚛️🥳   This year’s joint meeting is shaping up to be the best yet, and we’re thrilled to be sharing our latest improvements in the automated bring-up of quantum systems 🙌   In these four exciting talks and poster, we’ll focus on our bring-up software, QruiseOS. We’ll demonstrate how it can be used to run a sequence of characterisation experiments to rapidly calibrate control parameters, fine-tune system performance, and correct for hardware imperfections, all while maintaining optimal fidelity! This approach streamlines and accelerates both the initial setup and ongoing maintenance of single- and multi-qubit gates, reducing the time spent on manual adjustments and accelerating development 🚀   And to top it all off: it’s platform independent! Whether you’re interested in superconducting, trapped ion, or any other type of qubit, QruiseOS provides all you need to bring-up your quantum system 💫   Can’t wait until APS to find out more? Read all our presentation abstracts now: https://lnkd.in/eFmxJ2ks   And don’t be afraid to come find us at Booth 301 – we’d love to see you there!👋   American Physical Society Quantum Machines Zurich Instruments #APS25 #QuantumComputing

Happy International Day of Women and Girls in Science 👩🔬💫 Today, we celebrate the incredible women and girls shaping the future of STEM. To understand what inspired them to pursue a career in physics, we asked four of our female Qruisers to tell us about their journeys so far… For Dr Ana Laura Gramajo, it started with the small but significant word “qubit”. Her curiosity inspired her to pursue a PhD in theoretical physics, where she also got the chance to see a superconducting quantum computation lab in action ⚛️🔬 “Watching theory and experiment come together was mind-blowing. Seeing abstract ideas turn into something real and tangible completely shifted my perspective.” By the end of her PhD, the quantum ecosystem had expanded significantly, and Ana knew she wanted to continue exploring and contributing to this rapidly evolving field. Dr Lorena C. Bianchet was driven to study physics by a profound urge to understand how things work. She fell in love with photons and everything related to lasers, optics, and photon science, leading her to specialise in light-matter interaction ⚡️⚛️ “It always felt a little like doing magic in reality.” Along the way, she was encouraged by her high school physics teacher and her university professors, who believed in her capabilities and inspired her to pursue this path. Like Ana and Lorena, Dr Kirsty McGhee also studied physics, but she always harboured a secret passion for conveying knowledge through writing ✍️ “It was only during my PhD when a fellow female scientist told me about an internship she’d done in a publishing company that I realised that maybe it was possible to also pursue writing.” As the Scientific/Technical writer at Qruise, Kirsty’s current job is the perfect blend of these two passions ✨ Dr Swathi Hegde's interest in quantum systems began when she first explored the intricate world of spin qubits, where she was captivated by the ability to manipulate and control quantum states 💫 With a background in implementing quantum gates and algorithms, she now drives the development of advanced MRI control protocols at Qruise, bringing her expertise in coherent quantum control to this innovative field 🔥 We’re so happy their journeys led them to Qruise! Let’s celebrate, amplify, and continue to make space for women and girls in science 🙌 #InternationalDayOfWomenAndGirlsInScience #WomenInSTEM
