🌍 Unlocking the Future of Geospatial Intelligence: Major-TOM North America (vector embeddings) Dataset Now Open Source We’re thrilled to announce the open-sourcing of embeddings extracted from the Major-TOM (North America) dataset, provided by the European Space Agency - ESA. This initiative makes satellite image data searchable with natural language, without relying on traditional metadata, labels, or annotations. By releasing these embeddings, we aim to: - Push the boundaries of ML and geospatial innovation. - Foster open collaboration and creativity in the community. - Inspire new applications in earth observation and geospatial systems. 💡 Concrete use cases for such embeddings: - Online Learning: Explore unlabelled data with ease to finetune existing machine learning models with additional data. - Edge cases: Analyse and explore edge cases and gold nuggets in the data that ordinary machine learning models haven’t been trained on. - Agentic RAG: Turn vector embeddings, transformer models, LLMs into powerful agentic systems sifting through your data.
