✨🎄🎊 Season's Greetings from the TUM SAP UCC Munich Team 🎊🎄✨ As 2024 comes to an end, we reflect with gratitude on a transformative and eventful year filled with important milestones and collaborations. This year, we relocated the whole TUM SAP UCC Team to the TUM space at SAP Labs Munich at the Garching research campus under the leadership of Stefan Wagner. This state-of-the-art environment, part of Technical University of Munich's Industry on Campus Initiative, fosters collaboration between academia and industry. It also marked a milestone in the 20-year partnership between Technical University of Munich and SAP, which we proudly celebrated during our anniversary festivities. Our partnership with IBM also deepened, enabling the successful migration to their innovative Power10 hardware. This migration supports our Hybrid Cloud Datacenter strategy and sets the foundation for cutting-edge teaching, research, and global academic support. We expanded our teaching portfolio with exciting new curricula. The “Next-generation Datacenter” course provides hands-on experience in virtualization, automation, and SAP HANA database administration. The WatsonX curriculum, leveraging IBM WatsonX.ai, introduces students to generative AI and machine learning. Our collaboration with SAP University Alliances, led by Katharina Schäfer, brought exciting advancements in providing SAP cloud solutions like SAP Signavio, SAP BTP, SAP Analytic Cloud and Datasphere with our partner SAP UCC Magdeburg. Additionally, in partnership with Sebastien Gard from SAP ACC Switzerland, we enhanced the SAP BTP curriculum to foster student innovation on this platform.   Looking ahead, we are thrilled to offer an invitation for guest visits at SAP UCC Munich! Lecturers are welcome to join us for up to four weeks to co-develop new curricula or enhance existing ones. This is a unique opportunity to collaborate with our team on shaping the future of education and innovation. 📧 Interested? 🚀 Hello from TUM SAP Labs! 🚀 This week, we were thrilled to welcome another round of participants to our new course, "Next-Generation Data Center". Over the span of two days, participants delved into navigating Hybrid-Cloud landscapes using IBM Power10 hardware, with SAP as a prime example. Key course highlights included: 🔹 Hardware virtualization with PowerVM 🔹 SAP HANA Database deployment 🔹 Linux fundamentals🔹 Automation using containers🔹 IaaS with Ansible🔹 Connecting databases to front-end tools like Microsoft Excel or Java🔹 And more! We would like to express our special thanks to Markus Koch from Red Hat for taking the time to explain infrastructure automation at the example of Ansible. This curriculum was developed in collaboration with our colleague Maximilian Niedermeier and our partners at IBM Alexander Loibl, Wolfgang Rother und Thomas Heinlein. Our mission is to bridge the gap between cloud and on-premise environments, while introducing the future of data centers and hybrid cloud technologies into the educational landscape. 🌐 We are excited to announce that the course will soon be available in a pilot phase for all SAP UA members. 👨🏫 Invitation: Join us in Evaluating our new Next-Generation Data Center Curriculum 👩🏫 Dear partners of SAP UCC Munich, in cooperation with IBM, we are currently developing a new course that teaches the technical administration of SAP systems in hybrid cloud environments. 👩💻 We consider this program to be a great option to get an overview of how SAP enterprise architectures work behind the scenes. 📽 Also, participants can operate in our new #IBM #Power10 landscape. 🖱 We will test this 2-day course on the 9th and 10th October, 2024 in Garching near Munich and would be very happy to welcome interested lecturers! 🌟 Reflecting on two inspiring days at the SAP Academic Community Conference DACH in Vienna! 🌟 🎓 From September 3rd to 4th, we had the opportunity to attend the conference at the Vienna University of Technology. The #SAPACC DACH provided exciting insights into the future of #SAP, #ERP, #sustainability, and many other key topics in research and education. 🗨 On the first day, Gina Vargiu-Breuer (Chief People Officer, SAP) delivered an exciting keynote, offering insights into the evolving demands of the future workplace. She emphasized the growing importance of equipping young professionals with the right skills to meet these challenges. 🗨 The second day featured an inspiring keynote by David Faller (Managing Director IBM Germany Research & Development), who discussed the future of AI and explored the fascinating possibilities of combining artificial intelligence with quantum computing. Among the many highlights were presentations from our team on the future of education: ✨ Florian Eckhard delivered an engaging presentation on the current state of SAP-based teaching methods in analytics, sharing forward-looking insights on emerging trends. ✨ Maximilian Niedermeier introduced our novel teaching enviornment, "Towards a Next-Generation Data Center Curriculum: Utilizing Containerization for Teaching SAP HANA on IBM Power." 🎉 It was great to connect with so many dedicated lecturers at the conference and to hear their perspectives and experiences on innovative teaching methods. In this context, we would like to invite all interested lecturers to visit us as a guest for up to 4 weeks and to dive deeper into curriculum development with us. Therefore we are looking for lecturers who are interested in testing pilot curricula based on SAP technologies, and are eager to share their expertise in teaching to help shape new curricula. 🥁 ✨ A New Chapter Begins: Our move to the SAP Labs in Garching ✨ 🥁 Six weeks ago, we had the honor of being one of the first teams to move into the brand-new SAP Labs building on the research campus of TUM in Garching. Since then, we've been enjoying the inspiring environment alongside other TUM employees and SAP colleagues as we work together to shape the future. Our new workspace at the SAP Labs is truly a game-changer for innovative, future-oriented research and education: State-of-the-art facilities and brand-new furniture provide the best comfort for productive work! A vibrant co-working space fosters creative exchange and collaboration for around 120 TUM employees and over 700 SAP colleagues. We are particularly proud of the long-standing partnership between TUM and SAP, which has existed since 2003. The TUM SAP UCC has been part of this journey from the very beginning and is proud to continue contributing to this success story. 🚀 Ideathon @ DSAG-Jahreskongress 2024 🚀   Im Rahmen einer gemeinsamen Initiative von CBS consulting, der German-speaking SAP User Group (DSAG e.V.) und SecurityBridge sind Studierende herzlich zu einem Ideathon beim DSAG-Jahreskongress 2024 nach Leipzig eingeladen.   Bei diesem Ideenwettbewerb, der vom 11. bis 15. Oktober 2024 geplant ist, wird es darum gehen, Ideen für KI-basierte Produkte und Dienstleistungen sowie entsprechende Geschäftsmodelle zu entwickeln.   Neben vorgeschlagenen Themen, wie zum Beispiel „Nachhaltige Lieferketten mit Hilfe von KI“, gibt es auch die Möglichkeit, eigene Ideen einzubringen.   Den Teams von bis zu drei Studierenden stehen dabei fachliche und methodische Mentor:innen zur Seite.   Studierenden erhalten damit eine einzigartige Gelegenheit, ihr Wissen und ihre Fähigkeiten zu präsentieren und zu vertiefen, Erfahrungen zu sammeln, Kontakte zu knüpfen und Einblicke in die SAP-Welt zu bekommen.   Die Kosten für Anreise und Übernachtung der Teilnehmenden werden übernommen.   Weitere Informationen und Anmeldung unter: https://lnkd.in/exnzWyW5 #innovation #entrepreneurship #dsag #sap #ideathon #education

Yesterday, we had the wonderful opportunity to attend the grand opening ceremony of the SAP Labs at the Campus of the Technical University of Munich in Garching Forschungszentrum. Notable guests such as SAP CEO Christian Klein and TUM President Thomas F. Hofmann were present and gave inspiring speeches.This significant milestone marks another step in the long-standing cooperation between TUM and SAP. We at the TUM UCC have been part of this collaboration from the very beginning.
