What's happening this November? ScaleUp News straight from Dublin! 🌍 We're on an incredible journey to change the way data centers operate and to promote greener and more efficient practices across the industry. This is the core focus at ScaleUp, in regard to that this month, we packed our bags (and our bold ideas!) and headed to Dublin for the DataCentres Ireland 2024 Conference - an amazing event where industry leaders came together to shape the future of data infrastructure.   How did we contribute? 🚀 Our CEO, Christoph Streit, proudly represented ScaleUp on this global stage, sharing insights, collaborating with experts, and advocating for sustainable solutions. 🌎 The OCP Global Summit 2024 has come to a close and we are still vibing from four amazing days of pure innovation, collaboration on new ideas. What an incredible opportunity to connect with industry peers, exchange innovative mindsets, and dive deep into the future of data centres! Our CEO, Christoph Streit, took the stage to discuss the the promising prospects for Europe, particularly in the DACH region. On the first day, he joined the keynotes where George Tchaparian, CEO of the Open Compute Foundation, shared the game-changing developments that are shaping the future of open computing and AI: 💡His key takeaways are: ▶ Power demand is skyrocketing - Meta is rolling out 140KW racks for AI & 400V DC for racks is coming! ▶Collaboration is key to efficiency as demand grows. It's exciting to see AMD and Intel working together on an x86 ecosystem. ▶AI is the hot topic, no surprise here: Open systems and multi-vendor supply chains are becoming the norm. ▶The OCP community is booming: 7,000 attendees, 100+ exhibitors, and a market impact of $74 billion by 2028! Letzte Woche Donnerstag war Julia Streit auf der Bundesabwärmetagung auf dem EUREF-Campus in #Berlin, nachdem ScaleUp am Vortag mit einigen Tagungsteilnehmern eine Führung durch unser #Rechenzentrum in Berlin-Mahlsdorf gemacht hatte. Gemeinsam mit Penta Infra zeigten wir auch auf, welche Hemmnisse bei der Abwärmenutzung in bestehenden Rechenzentren existieren und wo bereits große Fortschritte auf dem Weg zu nachhaltigeren Rechenzentren gemacht wurden. Bundesabwärmetagung 2024 Wrap-up: Diese Hemmnisse waren dann auch ein Schwerpunkt der Tagung, die von der IZES gGmbH organisiert und vom BMWK gefördert wurde. Um die Abwärmenutzung in Rechenzentren zu forcieren, wurde das neue Projekt AwaNetz gestartet und auf der Tagung vorgestellt. Das Projekt als Teil der Deutsche Unternehmensinitiative Energieeffizienz e. V. (DENEFF) betreut will "Abwärmenutzung zum Mainstream machen". Eine weitere gute Initiative sind die Energieeffizienz- und Klimaschutz-Netzwerke (IEEKN) zur Umsetzung erster Pionierprojekte. Hier werden Zusammenschlüsse mehrerer Unternehmen beratend und finanziell unterstützt, Infos dazu gibt es unter effizienznetzwerke.org.
