Tata Steel has awarded SMS group the "Technology Partner of the Year 2024" at their Annual Supplier Meet in Kolkata! 🎉 "This award celebrates our successful commissioning of Caster 2 at TSK Ph-2 and support in the execution of BOF and Caster 3 at TSK-Ph-2". SMS is also partnering with Tata Steel in the #decarbonization journey with development and trial of new technology “#EASyMelt." Our partnership with Tata Steel is all about #innovation and #sustainability. At METEC 2023, we have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to take actions for conducting a joint industrial demonstration of the innovative EASyMelt technology at Tata’s blast furnace E in Jamshedpur, India. The main objective of this demonstration project will be to reduce CO2 emissions in a first intermediate step by more than 50% from the blast furnace’s baseline operation.   We're grateful for this recognition and look forward to continuing our journey with Tata Steel towards a greener future. On Monday, SMS group joined the global #OrangeTheWorld initiative to take a stand against gender-based violence. From Mönchengladbach to our international locations, our employees united in a shared commitment to respect, equality, and solidarity. 🧡 Our campus in Mönchengladbach glowed bright orange, symbolizing our support for the cause. Around the world, employees wore orange, participated in awareness activities, and engaged in discussions to amplify the message: violence has no place in any society. 🚀NEW ORDER 🚀  JISCO Carbon Steel chooses SMS group’s automation and service solutions for major strip mill revamp    We are excited to announce a landmark contract with WISDRI and JISCO Carbon Steel to revamp JISCO's strip mill in Jiayuguan, China. This project will establish the world's first plant combining Hot Strip Mill (HSM) and Compact Strip Production (CSP®) modes. It is our ambition to raise the standards in the automation of hot rolling mills and support JISCO's strategic growth.    Our advanced solutions will boost the mill's capacity and expand its product range to include high value-added grades. Key milestones include the first coil in CSP® mode by July 2025 and in HSM mode by December 2025, with project completion by January 2026.    This collaboration reinforces our two-decade partnership with JISCO and sets a new benchmark in hot rolling mill automation.
