Greetings to the 31st ITTC Seakeeping Committee The first in-person meeting of the Sea Keeping Committee during the 31st ITTC period successfully concluded this week. Experts from around the world gathered in Seoul, South Korea, to discuss key topics related to ship behavior in waves. Our Managing Director and committee member, Kay Domke, also participated in this important and insightful meeting. The SVA Potsdam GmbH is an independent shipbuilding research institute with a worldwide customer base. Our company is characterized by flexibility, responsiveness and precision. Greetings from the Reynolds number: Transferring the concept of turbulators from the model ship to the model propeller - the idea is ingenious but unfortunately also a little tricky! However, technological advances are making possible what was not possible years ago. The Tripping JIP project launched by MARIN (Maritime Research Institute Netherlands) is currently working on a technological concept for adapting turbulators to the propeller surface in cooperation with other research institutes and industrial partners. One of the aims is to generate a complete turbulent flow without distorting the propeller characteristics. The SVA Potsdam is participating in the project with tests on a self-designed conventional and an unconventional propeller. Currently, the first open water tests are running. Propulsion tests follow in 2025. We are looking forward to the results!

🎉 70 Jahre Schleppversuche in der SVA Potsdam 🎉 Vor 70 Jahren wurde der erste Schleppversuch in der Schlepprinne der SVA Potsdam durchgeführt. Wir blicken stolz auf eine Zeit voller spannender und innovativer Projekte zurück und haben dieses Jubiläum am 10.10.2024 gebührend gefeiert! Was als Volkseigener Betrieb begann, ist heute ein international renommiertes Unternehmen, das durch starke Partner, Auftraggeber sowie engagierte Mitarbeiterinnen und Mitarbeiter gewachsen ist und sich kontinuierlich an die sich wandelnden Herausforderungen unserer Branche anpasst. Die positive Entwicklung wurde insbesondere durch die Arbeit unseres Geschäftsführers Dr. Masilge Christian vorangetrieben, den wir nach nun 10 Jahren in der SVA feierlich verabschiedet haben. Vielen Dank! Gleichzeitig haben wir diesen Tag zum Anlass genutzt, die neuen Geschäftsführer Kay Domke und Simon Froitzheim vorzustellen. Wir freuen uns darauf, den erfolgreichen Kurs zu halten und sicher durch neue Gewässer zu navigieren!
