This sale proves the quality of our 80 GWh battery project pipeline and makes Terra One profitable less than 2 years after foundation. 🔋 We are live! 📈 One month ago today, our membership at the EPEX SPOT power exchange was finally activated. ✅ In the picture you see Steffen manually executing the first trade in the history of Terra One – a whopping 0.5 MWh. ⚡ Since then, we have activated our fully automated algo trading systems and are currently trading several Gigawatt-hours a day in round-the-clock operation. 🤖 Huge shoutout to Tony Schumacher, Steffen K., Malte Herberg, Matthias Plappert, Jan-Lukas Pflaum, Lukas Zöllner and everybody else involved in getting this live in record time. 👏 💪 🚀 We are now training and refining our strategies to be ready to trade once our first battery goes live, and are making some nice profits in the meantime. 💵 #energytransition #batterystorage #bess #racetonetzero

🔋 Last week we received our first building permit - for a 15 MW / 30 MWh #battery project in the state of Saxony-Anhalt. ⚡ This marks a significant milestone for #TerraOne as our first self-developed project has reached Ready-to-Build status. 👀 Insightful piece from the The Economist on the challenges Europe faces as a result of the accelerating built-out of renewable energy sources, and how to overcome them. There are three main ways that firms and regulators could establish a more efficient market: - sending energy to areas where there is no surplus - shifting demand to hours when energy is plentiful - storing energy as electricity, fuel or heat. We need to progress all three options to succeed in building a carbon-free energy system with affordable prices for consumers and businesses. Many businesses including #TerraOne are working hard to make this happen.
