  • Progress in the expansion of our service centre in Stuttgart, Germany. Our focus: capacity growth, digitalisation and sustainability. The expansion is now in full swing and progressing according to plan. The steel construction work for the new hall is currently being carried out before work begins on the facade. There will also be a brand new slitting line, that is already being manufactured. It allows us to raise local capacities to 350,000 tonnes per year. Furthermore, we will be able to process electrical steel there alongside our current portfolio and integrate advanced digital technologies such as automated production monitoring. We are very pleased to see the further progress and will continue to report on the investment in Stuttgart. Many thanks to the dedicated project team for your excellent work so far! • Big applause and congratulations to our team in El Puig! They have won the internal BEYONDY Award 2024 from our Materials Services segment in the category GHG Reduction. The team has impressed the jury with their project ‘Our Road to Climate Neutrality’, which aims to reduce the environmental impact of the El Puig service center and thereby minimise its contribution to climate change. To achieve this, they have focused on the three principles of sustainability: avoid, reduce and substitute. The project started in 2017 and is due to be completed in 2025, at which point El Puig will produce more energy than it consumes. This has been achieved by avoiding and reducing unnecessary consumption, e.g. by switching to electric forklift trucks. The biggest contributor is the installed solar system, with more than 1,500 solar panels. In the future, this will cover the site's electricity needs and even feed energy back into the grid. Once the project is complete, El Puig will be able to operate as a climate-neutral location. A great success that has now been honoured with this internal award. #thyssenkrupp #materialsprocessing #elpuig #sustainability

  • ❄️ Fit through the winter: This is the name and aim of our annual employee initiative, which encourages sports activities during the cold winter months. In teams, participants from our locations across Europe can collect points for a broad range of activities such as running, training in the gym or skiing, as well as for regular health checks. 💪⛷️ Many colleagues are already looking forward to the points chase, which starts next week. The winning team will be crowned in March. This is a great initiative to encourage people to get fit together and promote health and team spirit of our employees. We wish all participants a lot of fun. #thyssenkrupp #materialsprocessing #europe #teamwork #fit

  • Process transparency and team communication are key to improving operations and meeting customer needs. At the same time, however, they often pose challenges, especially when working in shifts in production. This is why we have been introducing Shop Floor Management (SFM) at our sites across Europe for several years now. SFM is an approach that links the management level with operational processes and employees. This is achieved operationally using digital boards in our production halls. For example, current data from our production facilities, which are digitally networked, is fed into these boards. This allows problems to be recognised and solved quickly. It is also possible to communicate better with colleagues from neighbouring areas and pass on information to the next shift. Daily meetings are held to discuss processes within the team using the board. This enables us to continuously improve processes and deliver high quality products to our customers. #thyssenkrupp #materialsprocessing #operationalexcellence #communication #team

  • Are you still enjoying seasonal sweet treats, or have you already started baking? Christmas biscuits have been available in European supermarkets for weeks – but what about you? Perhaps you’d like to get creative in the kitchen yourself? By the way, 2 December is Speculoos Day in Germany! 😊 If you’re looking for inspiration, why not try some international Christmas classics? If you fancy it, you could make a Bûche de Noël – also known as a Christmas Log, a traditional French dessert, or a special nougat variety called Turrón de Jijona, Spain’s favourite Christmas sweet. Did you know? Stainless steel plays an essential role in baking, whether in professional bakeries or at home: from work tables, trolleys, and sliding racks in industrial settings to mixers, baking trays and tins, and wire racks in your kitchen. Whether you have bought or baked your festive delicacies, we wish you a wonderful (pre-)Christmas season! 🎄🍪

  • Shortly after the severe floods in Valencia – the region where our El Puig site is located (which fortunately was not directly affected) – our local team decided to launch a relief effort. Our Spanish colleagues launched a local aid campaign to collect funds for specific projects with as minimal bureaucracy as possible. By last week Friday, our employees in El Puig had raised an impressive 12,375 euros, which will be donated to selected projects. The ‘DANA’ fundraising campaign is currently continuing in the group and we hope to be able to support the region at least a little with further funds in these difficult times. #solidarity #valencia #spainflood

  • For a good two years, Burak Kaya is working in logistics in Willich, ensuring the timely transport of materials within the site. Without the right material in the right place in the production process, our material processing would come to a standstill. This is a huge responsibility that Burak Kaya and his team take on every day. His work is an important part of our fast supply chain. Together with the other employees in logistics, he also ensures that outgoing freight is loaded quickly and incoming raw materials are unloaded swiftly. Without employees like Burak Kaya, we would not be able to achieve the best delivery performance for our customers and deliver our products just-in-time. #thyssenkrupp; #materialsprocessing; #mpeteam; #supplychain
