Precise Thread Cutting and Forming with the #UR5 Cobot from Universal Robots Thanks to the innovative AOCS quick-change tool holder for threading tools, the UR5 Cobot can precisely cut and form threads ranging from #M2 to #M8. The system compensates for axial and radial forces, reliably preventing jamming during directional changes. Process parameters are seamlessly integrated into the robot program using the ToolDrives URCap. The quick-change tool system allows you to fully automate the threading of your workpieces or rethread existing ones. With the ToolDrives Torque variant, combined with the AOCS quick-change tool system, torque levels of up to 28 Nm can be achieved. The video showcases a #UR5e from Universal Robots equipped with the new #AOCS thread chuck from Bilz Werkzeugfabrik GmbH & Co. KG and a high-performance thread former from BASS GmbH. The compact #SHW063 tool changer from GRIP GmbH Handhabungstechnik allows the cobot to be easily adapted for a new application.
