We are pleased to announce the start of production of the new, highly efficient innovative 13-liter MAN D30 diesel engine at the MAN Truck & Bus SE plant in Nuremberg! 🏁 This marks the final step in the rollout of the TRATON Common Base Engine (CBE) across all our brands, setting new benchmarks in #FuelEfficiency and CO2 #emissions reduction. 🤝Co-developed by our TRATON GROUP brands, the D30 engine demonstrates our commitment to both #innovation and #sustainability. With over 50% maximum efficiency and significant fuel savings, it embodies the expertise and dedication of our entire Group. 🔎 MAN has invested €250 million in the production of the new engine in Germany, securing 160 highly skilled jobs at the site. 🔌 In the transition to #eMobility, the D30 serves as a crucial bridge, ensuring that MAN customers receive the best in combustion engine technology as battery production capabilities advance. 🔋 The start of production will be almost in parallel with the start of battery series production at the plant, which is planned for spring. "In the TRATON GROUP, we are growing ever closer together and bundling our extensive expertise in joint developments. Today we are taking another important step in this direction. We are thrilled to share that Milence, our #charging joint-venture with Daimler Truck and Volvo Group, has been selected to receive over €111 million in EU funding to accelerate the development of #ElectricVehicle #ChargingInfrastructure! Milence received the funding for its MILES (Mobility Infrastructure for Logistics – Electric & Sustainable) project, which aims to establish the first pan-European network of charging points for heavy-duty electric vehicles (eHDVs). Through this project, Milence will deploy 284 MCS and 264 CCS charging points in 71 locations across 10 EU member states by the end of 2027. These efforts are a crucial part of the EU's Alternative Fuels Infrastructure Facility (AFIF) to drive #decarbonization and position Europe as the global leader in sustainable road #transport. Being selected as a leading project and receiving a large share of EU funding is a testament to the remarkable progress Milence has made in just two years, said Anja van Niersen, CEO of Milence.
