We had a surprise visit from our good friend Phillip Davies from Trosifol & SentryGlas Kuraray at our testing facility in Australia. we conducted a experimental impact test on a piece of 13.52mm (6+6+1.52) sentry glass paired with our centre fixed Tilt-Lock spigots at a drop height of 1200mm to see if it could withstand the extreme force of the lead shot bag. Built between 1936 and 1939 for the Kaufmann family, this National Historic Landmark appears to float above a 9.1-meter (30-foot) waterfall, blending seamlessly with nature. Wright’s vision was for the family to live with the waterfalls, integrating them into their daily lives rather than just viewing them from afar. To preserve this architectural marvel, recent restoration efforts included replacing aging glazing panels that had suffered from clouding, water ingress, and delamination. After extensive research, the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy selected SentryGlas® ionoplast interlayer for the new laminated panels. Unlike traditional PVB interlayers, SentryGlas® offers superior durability, clarity, and UV protection, ensuring the glass maintains its aesthetic appeal while protecting the interior wood and textiles from further damage.
