We're proud to have successfully participated as pilot project coordinator in the two demonstrations to test the functionalities of the SILVANUS Project in the field, that took place in Gargano National Park, Apulia, and the Regional Nature Park of Tepilora, Sardinia. We’ve contributed to the implementation of a platform for fire detection and prevention that integrates and analyses various data sources, including IoT sensors, weather data and earth observation tools, leading to a climate resilient forest management solution. This successful initiative highlights our team's efforts in fostering collaboration with partners to develop advanced solutions that positively impact our environment and communities, strengthening our commitment to sustainability. #SilvanusProject #Sustainability #Innovation #firefighting

A great privileage to personally attend the Croatian pilot of the SILVANUS Project!! The on-field exercise has allowed the opportunity to test the development of forward command centre (FCCs) to be used in the fire truck. The platform operation and the data from sensors being deployed on field has been fully tested and integrated with the platform!! Kudos to the project team for all the hard work!!

On the eve of the International #DisasterRiskReduction Day, #SILVANUSProject carried out another successful pilot demonstration in France. 🚀 Led by SILVANUS Consortium member International Emergency Firefighters (PUI), headed by Philippe Besson, the team convened at the pilot site in Saint-Cernin-de-Larche in Corrèze department, Nouvelle-Aquitaine region in central France. 🤝 The successful testing of the SILVANUS #platform brought into the forefront its decision-support system 💻 to efficiently deploy #drones 🛰 and water bombing helicopters 🚁🛩️ to suppress #wildfire. 🔥 MESH-in-the-Sky #communication system was utilized to transfer drone images and videos, and the augmented reality / virtual reality toolkit was presented to showcase #firefighter training methods. 🕹️ 👨🚒 More than 60 participants attended the event, and alongside #SILVANUSProject partners, the team wishes to thank firefighters and officials from Brive Airport / Aéroport de Brive Vallée de la Dordogne and SSLIA Brive Vallée de la Dordogne, along with the community of Saint-Cernin-de-Larche for their assistance in organising the pilot exercise. 👏 More from International Emergency Firefighters (PUI), which includes media coverage of the event by France 3 Aquitaine and interviews with team members, here: https://lnkd.in/gA5FG8Mg The 2nd trial period of #platform testing is moving forward successfully! #SILVANUSProject continues with the pilot demonstration season across Europe! 🌍 This week, the team has convened in the fertile Cova da Beira valley on the outskirts of Covilhã in Central Portugal to test the #platform in front of a wide audience of stakeholders. 👀 📢 The Portuguese pilot also provides a general overview of the impact of #wildfires on #electricity and #water infrastructure. 🔥 ⚡ 🌊 The pilot itinerary was divided into a workshop, where the components were demonstrated, and the exercise that featured a fire simulation and technology deployment.
