🏅 Two Guinness World Records in two months! 💪 In its 70th year in Australia, #Volkswagen has once again demonstrated the scope of its capabilities: 1️⃣🏅 The #Amarok crossed Australia's 10 deserts in just 6 days and 17 hours, driven by German endurance expert Rainer Zietlow and co-drivers Marius Biela and Brad Howe. The team covered more than 6,421 km through the Great Victoria, Great Sandy, Simpson and seven other deserts with only one puncture before reaching the finish in Alice Springs. 2️⃣🏅 The second #WorldRecord was achieved last month when Zietlow and Biela created the largest GPS drawing ever made by a BEV. In a factory standard ID.4 GTX electric SUV, the team inscribed “70 Year VeeDub” on a 23,849 km journey across Australia. 💬 Karsten Seifert, Managing Director of Volkswagen Group Australia, highlighted the achievement: “The extent and capability of Volkswagen’s showroom is unrivalled. Good news: Pre-sales for the #Multivan and #California eHybrid 4MOTION have started! 🥳 🚐 Whether on vacation or in everyday life - the new, progressive plug-in hybrid all-wheel drive makes the Multivan and California eHybrid 4MOTION particularly versatile. The highly efficient drive system combines all-electric driving with high combined ranges and maximum traction. The plug-in hybrid drive produces a system power of 180 kW (245 PS). The hybrid system comprises a new high-tech four-cylinder engine (1.5 TSI evo2), an electric drive motor on the front axle and a second electric drive motor on the rear axle. The two electric drive motors are powered by a new lithium-ion battery with an energy capacity of 19.7 kWh – providing an electric range of up to 95 kilometres for the Multivan and 91 kilometres for the California. The German Surfing Championships took place at the weekend, and our very own #VWCV brand ambassador Janina Zeitler was there too! 👏 This event was a real premiere: for the first time, the competition took place on German soil. 🏄♀️ The location was the O₂ SURFTOWN MUC, where we are a proud partner with our California models on site. The 20,000 m² surf park on the outskirts of Munich was the perfect spot! 💯 Thanks to the unique wave technology, the more than 100 surfers had ideal conditions: Waves at the touch of a button and precisely controllable. 🌊 From October 11 to 13, the athletes competed in adaptive surfing, stand-up paddling and surfing - inclusive and in one surf park.
