🌱 New Milestone in Andalusia on the Road to a Circular Economy: When Olive By-products Become Biomethane 🌱 From laboratory size to pilot plant to large-scale industrial plant - this is how new processes are implemented. This is exactly what is happening at Oleícola El Tejar (OET) in Espejo, Spain. In the world's largest olive-growing region, VORN Bioenergy is going to build several industrial-scale biomethane plants to produce biomethane and food-grade CO2 from the by-products of olive oil production. In the specially developed laboratory plant 🔬, it has been impressively confirmed that this complex fermentation process works stable and delivers exactly the results we calculated. Congratulations to our engineering team and the team in Andalusia! In the next few days, we will be taking the next big step with scaling up from laboratory size to pilot plant. Construction sites boring? – Not at all! 🚧 Construction sites are anything but boring! That's exactly what the Shareholder Committee of VORN Bioenergy thought when they recently visited our biomethane project in Ferrara, Northern Italy. 🌍🔋 And where excavators are moving huge amounts of earth and high rigs are driving piles into the ground to compact it, making it strong enough to support the weight of the fermenters – that’s where the hearts of tech enthusiasts really start to race! 💪⚙️ Over the next 15 months, there will be a lot of digging and building going on. By mid-next year, the first VORN biomethane plant in Italy will be up and running, producing 1,000 Nm³ of biomethane per hour, which corresponds to an annual capacity of around 8.5 million m³. 📈🔋 This means that around 7,000 households can be supplied with thermal energy. 🔥 So, keep it up – wishing for a successful and accident-free construction phase! VORN Bioenergy builds large biomethane plant in northern Italy The go-ahead has been given for the construction of the first large-scale biomethane plant in northern Italy. VORN Bioenergy is building a large biomethane plant in Ferrara in the Emilia-Romagna region with a capacity of 1,000 Nm³ of biomethane per hour, which corresponds to an annual capacity of approx. 8.5 million m³. This can supply about 7,000 households with thermal energy. 🔄 The feedstock used will be mainly plant and animal residues and as a result, no additional space is required for operation. 🌱 Construction will start in December 2024 and completion is scheduled for April 2026. 🌟 🍀 "For VORN, this project is a major milestone on our growth course and an important step on the way to supporting the energy transition through the use of industrially produced biomethane.
